I made the11 sec club but 8 rib belt keeps

I made the 11 second club Saturday 11.991 & 11.999 @ 117 MPH.The 8 rib belt is losing 1 rib about 1 ft long after 6 passes,it come of the front of the belt (nearest the rad ).This is the 2nd time it has done this.My tensioner is fine,all pulleys are good.Its like it starts to frey as if its rubbing on something then gets hooked & rips a rib off 12" long.Any suggestions???? These belts are $ 50.00 up here.

Join the Club!!!!!! both the 11 second club and the Throwing belts club. i can guarantee your tensioner is bent. it may look fine but its bent. easy way to check is to put a new belt on and start the car for a few seconds and shut it off. look at the pulley on the tensioner the paint is worn off where the belt used to be so if you see any bare metal, the tensioner is bent

IF your tensioner is bent, get with Adam (ST Motorsports) for better one.

i have adams and still cant powershift the car and its bent too. the belt rides the outer edge of the pulley now whereas there used to be space between the belt and the pulley

My tensioner has a welded plate on the backside facing the rad,then has a welded gusett on that.It is not bent,but i will double check it.I still have some pulley showing on the engine side though,i know for sure.

No i don't,but i can take some next week,I am not the best at this computer stuff,20 years ago i thought this internet thing was just a fad like the hoola hoop!!
