Perfect timing for me to use search as I had the same question about my Pioneer AVH-P3300BT installation. Thought I could live with the bright screen but it gets annoying.

Any idea if there's a 12V source already in the trunk that comes on with ignition? Couldn't find one and I'm wanting my rear view cam to be able to be on while driving just in case I want to see how far ahead I am. I was hoping not to have to run a wire all the way to the fuse box and didn't find one with my meter.

I put the 5V regulator in but have noticed I occasionally get a small pop when turning everything on. Anyone else notice that?

Do you have the Shaker set up?

I tied mine into the reverse light + wire for my rear view camera. Even pulled the trunk key cylinder and put the camera there. Mine only comes on when I put it in reverse.

Had the Shaker 500. Thought about tying it to the reverse light but wanted to turn it on without being in reverse. The Pioneer head unit has an input wire for reverse but by the time I got that far, I didn't feel like hunting for where to tie the wire to, or running it to the trunk.

Though about putting a camera in the key hole but the trunk medallion I have blocks the hole (Silverhorse). I've got one that just mounts on the license plate. Still has a pretty good view.

Do you still have the harness for the rear amps for the Shaker? You could tie into that for a constant hot when the car is on and run your camera.
