It seems like once a year, or more, I swap my whole engine or blower setup for something different. This year is no exception. However, I'm hoping this setup will be good enough for me to finally just drive it and enjoy it for a long while.

Recently I bought a wrecked 07 GT500 with 9,000 miles. It had been rear ended and also hit hard on the front right. The car was mostly stock aside from the Whipple 2.9L kit, and the ARH long tube headers. It belonged to a local guy who just had the Whipple and headers put on two weeks prior to the accident. I am swapping everything over to my car. Complete drivetrain (except rear axle assembly), all the harnesses including body, dash, engine, and headlamp harnesses. And all the interior. I had previously already upgraded my seats to the 2010 GT500 red stripe seats, so I sold off the seats from the wrecked 07.

On to pics:

Actual crash scene (believe it or not, that hood doesn't have a scratch on it):

And that's where I'm at. Tonight I'm swapping in a new clutch before I drop the motor in. I should have the motor dropped in tomorrow night, then final assembly on Thanksgiving. I swapped every electrical component from the donor car, so it should fire right up once I connect the battery. The PCM and PATs system will never know any different. I even swapped all the key cylinders and keys.

I'll update this thread as I move along. I wanted this to be a two week process working on it nights and weekends when I can, and so far I'm on track.

Awesome man!!!
Thanks! Your swap threads were a big help in the initial planning of this.

looks amazing so far. What pulley size was on the whipple?
It has a 3.25" on it and was making 14lbs. As soon as it's finished I'm going to have it dyno'd at a different shop. The numbers it made seem a little high for the boost. I'm also looking for a 3" pulley for it.

Damn, you make it look so easy, haha. Looks good man!
It's not so much difficult as it is time consuming. I'm doing this entirely by myself, so it can become a little overwhelming at times. Moving the two dash's in and out alone was interesting, but managed it without breaking anything. Most of the work is done at night after my daughter goes to bed, so it's hard to call someone at 11:30 or midnight if need a quick hand with something.

That is awesome!

One thing I really like about this forum is that most members here are willing to get their hands dirty. Great work so far. That interior looks mint.

That looks too easy to be true. Definitely going to keep an eye on this thread.

In a related matter: trade the C38-92 for an 81? :D

My hat is off to you, sir. I could never tackle something like that. How did you remember how to route that harness? That thing was a tangled ball of wire.

I'll keep you in mind. I'd like to sell it as it is right now though.

Very nice work, I'd love to do a swap like this myself
You already have what most of us do this swap to get up to.

That's the thing about harnesses. Lay them in the general area, and they'll sort of fall into place. Unless it's brand new out of the box, harnesses are "trained" to lay in a specific place.

Very awesome man!!

You should. It's for sale. It comes with an Afco heat exchanger, and made 486rwh at 11lbs on a bone stock motor. One of the best blowers IMO. I liked it so much I sold off my Procharger F1C to get back into a Rotrex.

awesome work man! looks badass!
Thanks!

Very cool!! Subbing to follow along on the progress. I would really love to do this in the future but like everyone else, funds are limiting. Love how your doing this all on your own.
