Is it true that there are chemicals in the octane boosters out there that will harm this new Coyote motor? or fuel system?

Those over the counter octane boosters hardly raise octane worth a shit. You would have to buy a ton to effectively raise octane. Look into using toluene. Google it

Would I see any benefit in my 2011 5.0 that has no tune? Gallon of Toluene to a tank?

OP, this topic has been beat to death on these forums. You should try searching. Lot's of opinions and info here already.

Personally, every third fill up, I put a small bottle of Lucas in my tank. Works wonders for me. But without a tune, it's a waste of money to worry about what octane you're running.

32oz of Torco in every tank. Makes sure the 100*+ heat or bad gas won't hurt my engine.

Torco is great. If you just want to use it as a safety device then it works well. Unless you add timing or do something to the tune raising the octane will not raise HP.

Torco is the only thing we recommend. It's the real deal and we've used it on our cars with excellent results.

No orange fouling of the plugs? There were complaints with the 4.6 regarding torco and fouling plugs.

As far as discoloration I've seen it in person however on the car I saw it on which ran Torco all of the time he never had any plug fouling issues.

I haven't personally experienced any fouling with our cars nor have I had any of my customers give me any negative feedback that they experienced something like that on theirs. We've got a LOT of customers running Torco now for quite sometime and the feedback has only been good.

More octane with all else being the same = less power.

I appreciate the response to my question and I'm glad to hear some positive remarks about it. I'm considering getting a can of the stuff to keep on hand just to throw in the tank for insurance on a race day. Does it expire and if so how long does the stuff last sitting there in the can?

With my Mach 1 I used Torco all the time. Had to with 25 lbs. of boost. Used lots of it for many years and never fouled a plug but did change them once a year. BUT it makes for reading plugs next to impossible with the orange coating it leaves on them. I bought it in 5 gallon pails and what wasn't used after the Winter I used in the Spring.

Torco or mix 100 oct in the tank.
Either work, both are expensive.

+1 on the Torco mix... We use a 93/110 mix with our blown 588 motors in our boat and have excellent results performance wise without any issues with fouling out the plugs.

Torco in every tank since supercharged. Bought 2-5 gallon jugs from Lethal performance. The plugs are discolored a rusty red color. But I've had no fouling issues. Torco does seem to add a distinctive race gas odor to my car. I'm ok with it though!

That's just a retarded statement. Octane by itself has nothing to do with power. It also doesn't have anything to do with how clean or completely the fuel burns or how fast or slow it burns. "all else being the same", octane is nothing more than a rating of how a fuel resists detonation or pre-ignition before it is physically lit, and nothing else. Again using the "all else being the same" scenario, an 87 octane fuel will burn at the same speed and have the same released energy as a 93 octane fuel, however once you start applying pressure to the fuel/air mix the 87 octane will self ignite before the 93 octane will.

That doesn't mean the gas companies aren't using different formulas for their "regular" and "premium" gas that may affect things like flame speed or power, but if there are differences in those areas it is from the different formula of additives they put in and not due to the octane.

It just amazes me how many people think they know what octane is and spew their waste online to infect others with incorrect info.
