I really wonder how much is left in the tank for an N/A 5.0l v8?

There's about four 2018 GTs available locally for sale right now. All are $41k+, and likely without any discount. As much as I would like a 2018 there's just no way I could justify trading in my paid off 12 and still having to take on a $25k+ loan.

I'd wait for a 2019 or 2020. Let em get any bugs out 1st. Or wait till 2020..and buy a 2019. If the DPRK decides to drop a nuke on your head, you will at least be able to get the hell outa dodge @ 3 AM.

If your rear tires start with the digit... "2".... IMO you will be in over your head on the street..and fast. What's needed out back..for street / hwy use would be a 11" wide rim and either a 305 or 315 tire. And at least a 285 on the front. And 15" front rotor's to slow it all down.

One way to handle the TQ on the street / hwy, would be to have enough smarts in there, so if the rears break traction, to up shift 1 or 2 gears.

no metric radial tire will hold this much power. Tire size needs to start with 28.0 x etc...

Maybe the computer stuff will still work but if not you'd step into it at any speed up to 50 mph and just start melting the tires. Pretty neat!

They're saying they're taking it to the track next week, we'll see.

Almost 11s at almost 117! That's gotta be frustrating, lol!

Completely stock car, second pass. LMR.

It was just one of their employees. But yeah, that just shows that this will be an 11 sec car once some more capable hands get a hold of it.

American Muscle just ran their manual '18 ... 437/401.
Yeah, I'm definitely thinking these cars are underrated, they gotta be closer to 500 than 460.
I'm thinking rating them at 460 is a move on Ford's part to better differentiate it from the GT350's 526 hp.

I feel that way even about the 15's. Local Ford dealership has a 2015 plain-Jane GT (even has the base model wheels) with 27K miles and it's $30K. I can buy a 2015 F150 5.0 4x4 XLT or Sport with similar miles for that price, does the Mustang depreciate that little?

His reaction time doesn't matter, he goes when he has it ready, 1.9 on the stock radials with 415 is pretty good for first time out.

I just looked on fords site, the 10 speed is a $1200 option. Unless you are really hung up on having a clutch I think its totally worth it. This is not a typical electronically controlled auto like we have been doing since the 90's, lots of stuff going on in there.

There is a bunch of intresting facts behind it also. It was co-developed with GM and part of the deal was that GM has to wait a few years before they can put it in a camaro SS. However the camaro 1LE will be getting this trans sooner if not right now.

Also 9th gear is not as pointless as it looks on paper. Cars don't need it, its for the trucks. So when you're loaded and approach a small grade on the interstate you have a gear you can reach for to save some MPGs before really dropping down. I had a F150 with a 2v 4.6 and a 4 speed so I am quite familiar with downshifting for everything when loaded LOL.

You would think it has a really wide spread for 10 gears, but its considerably close ratio. The FCA 9 speed and porsche 8 speed along with a bunch of other modern transmissions have a wider spread than this 10 speed.

My 2007 F150 has a 5.4 3V paired to a 4R75W. It tows fine, but it would tow like a champ with this 10 speed.

The 2.7 EB with this 10A is pretty much what my truck would be with a 10A. So I think you are on the money with the thought about gearing for trucks with this 10A.

12.02@116 is very impressive on a stock setup, even if it were at MIR in mine shaft air. Now we are getting somewhere. A sticky 26" diameter tire may find that 11.99. Just need a few ticks off the 1.90 60ft.

Time Slips (action) speak much louder than dyno sheets (mere words).

Thanks for sharing.

Sucks that they didnt do anything about the weight of the S550 platform

zswb21X.jpg

Maybe next time they update the platform they will follow chevy's lead and knock at least 200 lbs off. My 12 with the few mods I have weighs 3500 lbs on 1/4 tank of gas
