Is any one using them?
I wanting to upgrade from my stock struts and would like to try these out.
I have a sportlines on my car is it rides and handles pretty good. Would I benefit from the KR's(handle better, ride better or worst)?
Any help would be great!
Thanks!

Wow. No one?

Is your car supercharged? Unless you are getting them super cheap and just wanna throw them in for shits and giggles, there's better options out there.

As the KR has the weight of a supercharger plus associated stuff and an iron block if the struts are properly tuned for that weight and the associated springs then I don't think they would be a good choice for a regular GT.

whats that based on?

shocks and struts don't deal with weight per-say but control springs. the excess weight of the KR is dealt with its higher lb per inch springs. what do we do when we lower a car? add higher rate springs. To control those higher rate springs we buy dampers that have more rebound and compression. how is that any different than a KR damper. I know im dumbing things down and over simplifying things but you get my point.

please enlighten me if im wrong.

I'd think the springs probably wouldn't be the best choice for a GT, but the struts/shocks would probably work really well with some of the aftermarket springs.

I've been running GT500 takeoff struts on my GT, and they work really well. I'd like to try these KR struts to see if they work even better.

I'm not an expert but my understanding is that properly designed non adjustable dampers (struts/shocks) are "tuned" to match the rate of the springs that they are designed to operate with. Thus the KR dampers should be tuned to match the KR springs. Putting the KR dampers on a GT with GT stock springs would thus result in less than optimum results.

What about a supercharged GT with FRPP K springs? I know it's probably not exactly "ideal", but for $179 it's gotta be a reasonable option, right?

If I was buying new shocks/struts for my car today and lived in the US I would just buy a set of the adjustable Koni's. Yes you can find other cheaper alternatives but with the Koni's now available and on sale at a really attractive price they would be irresistible. They also provide adjustability so that you can match them to your driving style and springs.

Considering the amount of work and/or cost involved with replacing the front struts and then getting the alignment checked/set why mess around with something that might not work.

It takes an hour to swap out struts, with no change in alignment. The "why" would be because of the $179 price tag. That's a fraction of the price of Koni's and even half the price of other "performance" struts/shocks. So if they worked even half as good, I'd say it's a decent deal.

I'm guessing these are 2010 500 struts. Since the 11 500 now has 100 less weight in the front because of a aluminum block then the 11 500 spring /shock package has changed since these are non adjustable

Removing the struts means the alignment specs will change - maybe not dramatically, but they will.

I'd bet a 12 pack the alignment won't change in any measurable amount by swapping struts only.

Toe won't budge. Caster won't budge. If anything, camber could slightly change, but I'll bet by no measurable amount.

Anyone think these will work well with Bullitt springs?

---

Someone needs to pony up $180 and let us all know how a GT rides!
Thanks all,

Gerardo

I have the KR springs, struts and shocks installed and love them. However I have a 5.4 3V with twin turbos so I have more nose weight. I replaced a set of Roush springs (worked good with the 4.6 but sagged a lil with the 5.4) and Tokico Dspecs. The ride is rougher than a GT500 (more sporty), but honestly it should've been factory GT500 spec. The ride height is dropped around 3/4 of an inch. Sorry no results with the 4.6 guys...

What I don't understand is why the hell isn't anyone questioning the 180 bucks for 4 shocks for the most top of the line mustang of the year? That's as much or less than four new stock GT shocks. Me thinks they didn't sell as many KR's as they thought they would and now the car has different shocks. The price of the car couldn't have been the problem, right? :handjob:
