btw....every car is different and every car responds differently to mods. some better than others. some cars dont make shit on a dyno but run like a bitch on the street/track.

i actually prefer the latter :)

well im going to double check my jetting on the nitrous tonight, and try getting it to the track sometime next week.. the only thing that blows about that is i have 20" wheels on the car that are 8.5 wide, and the car has Nitto NT555's on it. which probably wont hook up very good at all. so when the car runs 13's or 14's w/ all these mods i will be sure and let everyone here know that i have one of the "turds" from the factory..LOL i will run it w/ the 3.73's then if i see SOME sort of potential i will get the 4.10's put in, and get some smaller wheels and drag radials.

going to 4.10's from 3.73's in your car would be a complete waste of time and money. it wont make u any faster, especially with the spray.

I say get some meat on the rear of the car and let her loose! Keep your head up. If you want real power, get rid of the NO2 and go FI.

lets play the "im dumb" game and someone tell me why this would be pointless. ? the 4.10's just got delieverd but they can be put up for sale if it would in fact be a waste of time swapping from the 3.73's to the 4.10's.

The big wheels are probably not helping on the dyno. Not to mention adding 4.10 gears isn't going to help much either in that regard.

I feel your pain man. My 06 dyno'd 265whp with an intake/brenspeed e-mail tune and 4.10 gears. Pretty fucking terrible. I have heard the 28.5" tall 295mm wide tires and 18x10 wheels I was running at the time probably account for some of that. But still... terrible.

Some people will tell you that there is no such thing as a "factory freak" any more. I'm kinda skeptical about that when you consider how even at stock these cars can be pretty different on the dyno. Brenspeed had one that only managed 240whp stock on the dyno. They told me that mine was a "low producer" like that car. They have NO idea why some of them are dogshit like that.

If it falls flat on it's face at the track you might consider trying another tuner. If that doesn't help I don't blame you for getting rid of the car and trying something else. Once bitten twice shy.

The dyno is not the end all be all when it comes to true power. I never pay attention to the numbers becuase I know from first hand how it goes. Ive seen 9 sec mustangs put down 400 HP. Why? because of convertor and F/I combination. People get to wound up in the numbers.

ya i know the big wheels dont help anything really.. funny thing is that they are the same OD (outside diameter) as the stockers (27")

The 27" OD is a good thing but there are two bad things about the 20s. The weight and the lack of sidewall. The latter is going to make it harder to launch when you do take it to the racetrack.

yes i know that as well.. i just mentioned the OD of the tire wheel combo because i know that when you change the OD of the combo it will change the gear ratio (where the tire actually meets the pavement).. i LOVE my 20's and i dont goto the track much.. but i wouldnt mind swapping these for some smaller wheels that i can have more of a sidewall tire w/. the nitrous window switch is setup to NOT spray in 1st gear, but to come on in 2nd gear from 4k rpm's to 6200 rpm's. so the tires dont light up to bad from a dead stop.. but on the dyno the first couple of runs the tires broke loose on the dyno as soon as the nitrous hit.

Stupid question that I didn't see while skimming through this post.

Was the TC locked during the pulls? If it was the first thing I would do is try another dyno and take a trip to the track.

Like others have already said, do not live and die by dyno numbers.

Good luck!

Put some tires on it.....go to the track....

Also, get someone else to tune it, not that MC is bad, just to see how the tunes compare...

well your mph will tell you a lot about the power your car is ACTUALLY making and putting the ground. make sure you weigh your car and get weather readings when you go to the track.

so if you get there and the car runs a shitty mph then yes, the dyno is right your cars not making any power time to shit or get off the pot and get your ass into a CAMARO ASAP!!!

how is it NOT about dyno and hp/torque #'s?? if your car isnt making good hp and torque #'s, wont even break 400whp W/ a 125shot, then it sure wont get down the track and get a decent time/speed.

You are selling the car perhaps because of a fucking dyno number? ANd the car has never been down the track once? Are you fucking kidding me? Its an auto..They rob horsepower..This is the first time I have heard someone wanting to sell their damn car because of the fucking dyno number, and never ran it down the track. UNBELIEVABLE...

yes and no.. im to the point that to make good hp numbers im looking at a blower ($4-$5k) and a built motor to make use of the blower ($4-$5).. i wasnt wanting to spend that much $$ to get to a 450whp goal.. its like these motors (4.6l s197 motor) have this limit of UNDER 350whp unless you want to start pulling the motor apart etc.. my whole goal WAS to get to 450whp w/ the spray, and be around 320-340whp N/A.. i THOUGHT i had an ok combo for those numbers.. but apparently not.. i thought i was done having to spend more $$ to get to that goal, since all of the bolt on mods are done etc.. now to even get CLOSE to that goal i would have to get into the motor more (ported heads etc) and even thne i prob still wouldnt make the #'s id like to make.. are my standards to high? i didnt think so when i started all this because i see guys getting good #'s on thier N/A cars w/ these same mods all day long on here.. some even w/ the auto!!
