Moved to chit chat...
Go to the Track.
Go to the Track.
going to 4.10's from 3.73's in your car would be a complete waste of time and money. it wont make u any faster, especially with the spray.
The big wheels are probably not helping on the dyno. Not to mention adding 4.10 gears isn't going to help much either in that regard.
I feel your pain man. My 06 dyno'd 265whp with an intake/brenspeed e-mail tune and 4.10 gears. Pretty fucking terrible. I have heard the 28.5" tall 295mm wide tires and 18x10 wheels I was running at the time probably account for some of that. But still... terrible.
Some people will tell you that there is no such thing as a "factory freak" any more. I'm kinda skeptical about that when you consider how even at stock these cars can be pretty different on the dyno. Brenspeed had one that only managed 240whp stock on the dyno. They told me that mine was a "low producer" like that car. They have NO idea why some of them are dogshit like that.
If it falls flat on it's face at the track you might consider trying another tuner. If that doesn't help I don't blame you for getting rid of the car and trying something else. Once bitten twice shy.
The dyno is not the end all be all when it comes to true power. I never pay attention to the numbers becuase I know from first hand how it goes. Ive seen 9 sec mustangs put down 400 HP. Why? because of convertor and F/I combination. People get to wound up in the numbers.
The 27" OD is a good thing but there are two bad things about the 20s. The weight and the lack of sidewall. The latter is going to make it harder to launch when you do take it to the racetrack.ya i know the big wheels dont help anything really.. funny thing is that they are the same OD (outside diameter) as the stockers (27")

well your mph will tell you a lot about the power your car is ACTUALLY making and putting the ground. make sure you weigh your car and get weather readings when you go to the track.well im going to double check my jetting on the nitrous tonight, and try getting it to the track sometime next week.. the only thing that blows about that is i have 20" wheels on the car that are 8.5 wide, and the car has Nitto NT555's on it. which probably wont hook up very good at all. so when the car runs 13's or 14's w/ all these mods i will be sure and let everyone here know that i have one of the "turds" from the factory..LOL i will run it w/ the 3.73's then if i see SOME sort of potential i will get the 4.10's put in, and get some smaller wheels and drag radials.
Stupid question that I didn't see while skimming through this post.
Was the TC locked during the pulls? If it was the first thing I would do is try another dyno and take a trip to the track.
Like others have already said, do not live and die by dyno numbers.
Good luck!
how is it NOT about dyno and hp/torque #'s?? if your car isnt making good hp and torque #'s, wont even break 400whp W/ a 125shot, then it sure wont get down the track and get a decent time/speed.
You are selling the car perhaps because of a fucking dyno number? ANd the car has never been down the track once? Are you fucking kidding me? Its an auto..They rob horsepower..This is the first time I have heard someone wanting to sell their damn car because of the fucking dyno number, and never ran it down the track. UNBELIEVABLE...
