On a road trip I just got 17mpg with the cruise control set on 70 the entire way. Normal driving I usually get around 15mpg.

Yeap thats the best way to get your overall mpg average. If you have different gears/tires rev per mile settings in your tuner or even swap from to a 6 speed is going to induce errors for the dashboard readout.

I average 17 mpg based on how many miles to tank i get. Thats with untuned ford gt pumps(dumping fuel a throttle release).
Before on the stock bump with full bolt-ons and cams i averaged 19mpg.

LOL... I did not give any thought into buuying the car, except that it was an Amreican Legend, I liked the looks, and the sound.

However, I have been thinking about installing a secondary 5-8 gal fuel cell in the trunk (spare tire well) so I can go longer distances between stops.

averaging 16-18 city/some highway. I let my car warm up before I drive off so MPG goes down because of this.

The MPG display lies. I used the same gas pump, put a full tank in. Reset trip and mpg average. Drove it to 1/4 tank, and filled up at the same pump. I got 200 miles out of 3/4 of a tank, and put 9.8 gal back into it. By the numbers that's 20.41mpg on 3/4 of a tank, but my mpg displayed I got 23.2mpg and the gallon display says I only burned 8.6 gallons of fuel.

I won't complain about 20mpg, and I drove like grandpa just to see how economical I could be with cams.

It shoots the shit out of the milage any SN or Fox cammed Mustang would get, but I wonder why the computer was off so much? I've tuned for gears and tire size, so I'm not sure whats up with that.

18-19 in the city.... 20-21 on highway

That's about right for me, custom 93 tune, BBK CAI, offroadX, 4.10's & 5speed.

Of course I can dip to low teens when my foot is feelin heavy, best I've seen on the highway is 24ish.

about 8-9 in town, and 25+ on the open freeway. Not bad for close to 600hp :)

My jeep gets about 15 mpg no matter what I do with it, haha! But I keep the highway cruzing down to sub-60mph speeds, especially with the top down :)
