2012 Mustang GT BBP part out

You are right- they should be and are 2 ohms. I checked my amazon order history to confirm. I think the thickness has more to do with the power reqs- these are 1/2 watt. I'm just a mech engineer, but can at least confirm nothing caught on fire during use ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Chugging engine and CEL

Here is the my experience: Lots of codes http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122875 This problem liked to show up and ruin $600 track weekends. Replacing the engine harness kept the codes away through two more track days and six months of street use. Keep us posted, hopefully it...

    Chugging engine and CEL

You can swap 1&3 COP's with two that didn't throw codes and see if problem moves to those positions. If yes then COP's, if no, then engine harness or PCM. (To be absolutely sure you also swap fuel injector positions too) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    VIR Lap Times

Hi Mike- I'm thinking of going for the comp license next year. Already signed up for four chumpcar races this year, plus a couple HPDEs. That's about all I'm allowed in the yearly budget! Hopefully once I can work in exchange for track time, and with no need for track insurance I'll be able to...

    VIR Lap Times

Well, I ended up getting into the 2:13's at my first HPDE for the year: http://youtu.be/x9TX4omofwA Was pretty excited when I saw the predicted lap time, hence the fist pumps. Yes, I know, bad idea going into 14... I also finally beat the Car & Driver lighting laps times the next day on the...

    Brakes or shocks/struts

For $1500, I'd sign up for 3x HPDEs, wouldn't bother with suspension or brakes until you get more seat time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    TPMS in your track wheels?

Turning it on or off is your call. You are the one on the hook financially if something bad happens. If your instructor disagrees then request another one from the chief instructor. That isn't unreasonable at all. From the instructors point of view I'm sure if they're that worried they'd be...

    Welding in relocation brackets

After I gave myself a fancy MIG welder for Christmas, I'm itching to weld anything in sight, lol. I have the Whiteline brackets, although not sure that matters... My question is about safety precautions when welding that close to the gas tank, anything I need to worry about? Also to a lesser...

    What seats are you running?

That's a good idea, works if you permanently change seats. Would be nice to be able to fool the airbag circuit for track days though, so I don't have to mess with the leather sofa seats, just bolt in my aluminum seat, plug in a dummy circuit and go to the track. Anyone have an idea how to best...

    Oil leak/spray

28 years since my dad taught me- "hand tighten then 1/4 turn with the wrench". Hundreds of oil changes later, the only time I ever had a filter break was after trying to use a f'd up wrench. I bet it's your wrench. Never read the box.

    Lots of codes

Thanks for the advice. I did read about this on a boss forum. Think it was $1000. I guess it comes down to how critical the usage is. If I had the money to race AIX, it would be a no brainer. For HPDEs I will probably stay on the cheaper route. Reminds me of the mantra "Mustangs are great cars...
