Is it true the 10' 3v is the fastest of the 3vs?

What changed in the 3vs 09-10 vs 05-08

Rev limit and a bullet CAI? I believe the 2010 cars gained a little weight though.. FWIW I would start with an 05-09 since they can be had for a little less.

Yes. As far as factory engine goes.

The '10 GT got the 08/09 Bullitt engine upgrades. 315HP, 325#', 6500 redline w/revised harmonic balancer. That was the best of the factory 4.6L3V's. They do not have the open CAI from FRPP That Bullitt has.

EDIT: Plus the 'adaptive spark ignition' where 91 octane bumped torque slightly by 10#' in the mid range according to the Press Release. Not much but you can feel it coming out of the turns on a two lane twisty. First rolled out on Bullitt, where you can use different octane and the ECU adjusts for it, held back for the GT until 2010.

08 Black GT's are the fastest, as my 13.375 stock timeslip :boob:

OK real talk, 08 bullitts are going to be your fastest stock car if you can pull a 13.2 out of it.
They come with the 10' year upgrades to the engine they are lighter and have a 6500 rev limit.
But it doesn't take but a new intake on an 05 to get to the same spot.

The 05-09 3Vs with basic bolt-ons and a good tune are easy (and cheap) to get into the 12's. The 2010s are too close to a 2011 Coyote price to not make that leap in my opinion.

I think red GTs are the fastest though! Especially with stripes! LOL

I'd like to know the differences as well. I picked up my 2010 in January and love the car. I paid about $7k-$10k less than a comparatively equipped 2011+.

All i have read indicates the additional power comes from the revised intake and some engine tuning. I haven't heard anything else. I hope someone else can state the facts.

Never really thought about this, don't think it would make too much of a real world difference when it comes to driver discrepancies.

I agree on the revised tune and intake. We're only talking 15hp at the flywheel. I took care of that with my own CAI and tune for a better increase. If anything, the 07-09 engines might be a slightly better design than the 05-06 models with little things like 1-piece plugs.

As for the price of a 2010 being $7-$10K less than a 2011, I'm sure we're missing some key ingredient in that equation. 2011 GTs are selling for $21K-$24k around here and the 2010s are $18-$20K. A 05-06 can be found at dealers for $11-$14K. Leaves plenty of free cash for bolt-ons.

Mods don't count. We're talking factory engines here.

Yes there was a revised tune incl better throttle response, and a 250 increase in redline, which changes the power curve. Not much but that's what Ford put out as 'special' for the 08/09 Bullitt, and held it back from the GT until 2010. New heads were rolled out in Dec 07 for 08 Bullitt which was 'Job 2'. And also for the GT's.

Price difference between the 2010 and 2011? 100 HP. ;)

Here in Colorado, prices on Mustangs are higher, at least on the 2011+. I paid $17,000 for my '10 GT premium coupe, 5-speed manual, 33,400 miles, interior upgrade package, and premium wheels from a dealer. A similarly equipped 2011+ is going for over $28k, a base is no less than $24k. I am ok with the 315hp 3v. The money I saved is going to suspension mods right now. Eventually I'll pick up a KB or Whipple and get 430rwhp, which is plenty for me and slightly higher hp than a stock Coyote.

All I know, the 2010 is definitely a bastard stepchild between the 05-09 and 2011-2014. I'm finding this out with interior and engine intake parts.
