2004 GT clutch

As you may remember, I got my daughter a CO Mustang last year.

She said the clutch was not fully disengaging sometimes. A friend (not a shop) replaced the cable and now it isn't disengaging at all. Won't go in gear if you start in neutral, and moves if you start in gear.

It is basically the stock motor but someone put a Spec Stage 2 clutch in it. (Stiff as hell compared to mine!) I know, overkill for a stock motor!

Is it the cable adjustment or could it be the clutch or pressure plate? Seems to me that it not disengaging would be the clutch cable adjustment.

Any advice is welcome.

I had an issue with my '03 feeling like it kept getting "caught" on something after I had a RAM clutch installed. Turned out to be a clutch quadrant issue for me. Might be worth checking in to.
