Brenspeed's (Brent White & George Dockery) deliver the >TIGER MACHINE<
Yes I'm smiling guys,
I know some of you have been waiting for this post and it's pictures.
Well, I just went over all the pics that were taken and have got them ready to post.
Here goes people .............
I have been thinking about what another person would want to know about me getting the Bullitt Mustang back.
So I have decided to just do this as if I was on the other end and what I would be looking for in information and pics.
Brent and George got here Friday afternoon and thank goodness it was a sunny day with great temperatures.
What I saw 1st was it sitting on the trailer and I promise you it's "Stance" is totally awesome.
Not to exaggerate but honestly just right for a street car.
Then George got in it and fired it up as I stood to the rear of it.
Man it is no freaking doubt it is a Bad Boy for sure.
It's not overly LOUD but it darn sure loud enough even while idling.
So down it comes off the trailer and we do the continuing picture taking to share with you.
After taking more than enough Brent says, jump in tiger and let George take you for a drive and go over the changes.
So off George and I go and it did not take anytime for me to know this thing is the stuff.
(I would throw in some much better Descriptive Words but this site's software won't accept them)
George and I go get on 840 which is just like an interstate with 4-lanes.
So we just mess around some as in paying attention to the ride quality, interior noise level, how it shifts, accelerates, cruises at speed etc.
It is so civilized you would not believe it when driven in a very calm fashion.
But, you jump on the throttle and it just simply "EXPLODES" instantly.
The engine revs so fast I don't think you could any longer drag-race it with a stick.
It would be on the Rev-Limiter so frequently as you could not shift fast enough as it revs.
It is the perfect combination for the automatic.
It shifts so FAST through the gears and just simply halls ASS.
We got to an exit and got off 840 to come back and on that entrance ramp George goes like 2/3rds throttle and the car just lights-up the rear tires.
Yes the ramp was concrete so not like we were on a slick surface !!!
We got back to a Shell station and I filled it up and took over the driving.
I don't think George was nervous.
I just messed with it some to get an idea of just how darn wild it really is.
Well I found out quick ............
Drive normal and as I said above it is unbelievably smooth and shifts so nicely.
But you step into the gas any at all and it just changes it's mannerism instantly.
Well we all just hung out and as I recall I think there was maybe a few Brews consumed.
Lets see what else ???
Of the engine compartment George completely detailed before they came down and it looks TERRIFIC.
Oh and speaking of new items ..........
The new Mickey Thompson SC-5 wheels and those new M/T Street Comp tires are great.
They look like they came on the car.
And the rear 305/35-20" tires on those M/T 10.5" wheels are HUGE !!!
And no they do-not hold the power level period in the lower gears on the street.
That includes asphalt or concrete surfaces.
Also there is no shaking of any kind in the steering wheel with the new M/T wheels and tires.
It is really-really super smooth guys.
Also those new Coil Over adjustable rears ride great and allowed the rear fender to tire clearance to be exactly where it should be.
(Thanks Earl over on S-197 for that suggestion buddy)
Hey just thought of something some of you would want to know about the new Comp Cams.
They sound great at idle even with me running the Borla (Touring) axle-backs.
One more thing I was hoping might work out was not having the CEL light come on in the dash.
I drove it yesterday 500 miles to my brother's house in Frankfort, KY and back.
And believe me I did punch it a few times going and coming plus all the interstate miles and that CEL light has not come on.
So Monday (Tomorrow) I'm going to take it to the State Emissions Testing Center and see if it passes.
I think it will and if it does that will be a good thing.
What else ???
There are No-Rattles or anything strange at all with it and I think any issues would have probably showed up after all the miles I drove it as well as Brent and them while they were testing it.
Speaking of Brent and tuning.
Man, my opinion is he had to spend a tremendous amount ot time tuning it.
It shifts so smooth when driven calmly with no jerking or anything.
Then you get into the gas and that shifting changes to (Right Freaking Now) with instant shifts.
It idles around what looks like maybe 800 RPM I'm thinking.
Honestly I just did not pay that close attention to it on the tach.
When you drive off in it there is no stumbling or anything.
Push the throttle down and everything then acts immediately as a Performance-Machine.
Come to a stop and it does not sit there searching for the correct idle RPM.
(You know the Up & Down revs while trying to idle correctly)
It is as close to actually driving a stock Mustang right off the Ford showroom.
And I mention that because it is a Major Pain in the ass to have to deal with it if you have ever experienced what I speak of.
Lets see guys what else ???
Hey under POWER the exhaust sounds great and I should mention the Roush S/C "SCREAMS" !!!
I did a few pass bys with Bobby and he said it is just totally Baddddddddddd
He said you hear the Roush and then you just fly by in an instant and disappear.
Bobby and I did decide to take it on a road trip to KY yesterday after we ate breakfast with Brent & George.
We went to check-out my brother's Z-06 Vette with the Z-07 Performance package.
Man it was a fun drive there and back for sure.
I'm glad as well as Bobby said to me that we did that trip.
So speaking of visiting with the brother and his wife Diana.
(He has a truly great wife)
Well Some of their neighbors came over to check out the Mustang in his driveway.
And obviously to hear it run, big surprise.
We did check out my brothers totally awesome Bright Red Z-06.
Pictures are okay but seriously seeing that Vette in person just puts a true car guy's smile on your face.
It not only looks Great but he fired it up and the factory exhaust is KILLER.
Seriously is sounds like no other Vette I have heard and I have owned a lot of them over the years.
And some of you know he ordered it with the new 8-Speed automatic tranny.
Anyway, guys the Vette is just a beautiful car in all respects.
Well after we all checked and mulled over the two cars we went in to watch the Stang TV Brenspeed produced video.
I think it's safe to say the video was a hit and the Bullitt Mustang also.
One of the neighbor's said to Norman (My brother) I know a great road for you all to try them out.
I don't recall to be honest my brother's exact words.
Something like I don't have anything for that Mustang so no point in going there.
Now I did not drive my brother's Z-06 so what I'm going to say next is nothing more than my opinion and we all know what opinions are worth.
There is no way in the world that Z-06 would keep up with this newly just completed Mustang.
Seriously the Mustang IMHO is now Scary Fast !!!
Especially in the lower gears taking off.
And I do know what I speak of with it as I have had it since 2008 and all the changes it's gone through.
I'll also mention this, there ain't No-Way in Hell I would activate the 50-Shot of NOS and hit it on the street.
That would IMO just be insane !!!
Well we said our goodbyes and off we went to return to TN and drop Bobby off at his house.
He lives 1-hour North of Nashville and I live South of Nashville.
So we dropped off his Bullitt before we took off to KY.
Hey guys maybe I should make a comment or so about that video Brent did on covering Long-Term-Car-Projects.
He really did do IMHO an excellent job with it.
He speaks very well and covered everything that needed to be covered with someone thinking about a project for their Mustang.
He also got with Stang TV and they were interested in having that video and the story for their Internet Site.
So Brent I Thank-You for taking your time and all the effort that went into that video.
Plus Thanks to You & George for all the hard work that went into this Bullitt the past 7-plus years.
It is truly an awesome looking as well as powerful machine !!!
Well fellows if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them if I can.
