Thanks Sean. I agree. They painted my Bullitt entirely and the quality of work is top notch. I'm in a spending mood tonight, so I just purchased new black carpet, sound deadening material for the cab, and a piece of bed patch panel. Going to test the waters and see if it is a good fit for the part of the bed I need to replace.

Trying to look into replacing the rotted heat shielding but that shit is stupid expensive. OEM gas tank shield for the rear is like $400~

Unrelated to this build, but managed to double the 7.3L love today.

I was looking for a chassis cab OBS Ford for a ramp truck but I've had this in my inventory for a while now with zero bites. I had to put a motor in it too, so it was just worth my dad and I keeping.

Plan is to take the box off and build it into a ramp truck/toy hauler.

You can't sell that truck. You know that any other hand job off the streets isn't going to be as thorough as you with it, and give it the attention it deserves.

NOW...That being said...

That cube van is fuckin sweet! (Did I just say that?) I dig the shit out of the 550 treatment, way meatier looking than a e350. Needs aluminum 19.5's though. Aluminum skirted ramp bed?? Or more of a flatbed with a dovetail and ramps?

Thanks. I had three guys interested in it, and managed to sell 2/3 another pre owned truck. The other guy is pretty persistent but i told him I'm holding off for the time being.

I agree completely about the 550 flares, it makes the E-series look badass (and that isn't an easy task). All said and done, it will most likely be painted Dark Blue (probably True Blue or Kona), polished 19.5 Alcoas, and black ramp bed. Biggest thing for me is a bunch of storage compartments. I have big plans for it but it will take time since I will be using the box for storage during our upcoming dealership construction.

Planned on a aluminum skirted bed ramp like this but angle at the beginning and then flat across the top.

And the joys of a 7.3 stuffed into a e-series... Complete PITA

Yeah, shorten the box, make it a sleeper, then add the hauler on the back

I thought about it, but the box is beat to hell and back. The previous owners/company made shelves out of 2x4's and today my service porters destroyed them all as we are using it to haul a bunch of office equipment to the dump and storage during the construction since we are staying open as we build the new facility on the same land. I do need to find a way to finish off the cab in the rear though since it is a E-550 with a cutaway body so if I took the box off, it's completely open. A sleeper part would be pretty badass.

Something like this would be cool:

The ideas are definitely churnin' but not planning anything large until next Spring/Summer when construction is completed.

Years ago my parents owned a landscaping company. We had a 56 2 ton dump truck for big jobs. Looked just like the cab of an F-100, but with a shorter hood. I wanted to stuff a diesel into the frame and convert it over to a hauler. Maybe you can find a cab and make a hauler like that.

My 96 should be out of the body shop this Friday. Been taking a while since I had to wait on LMC to send me the bed patch panel. We've decided to hold off on fixing the rot spots in the bed until Spring, for the reason of my budget and maybe I may get lucky and find the entire bed panel. For the time being they will sand blast the bottom of the bed and POR15 it.

I've considered finding an old cab and fitting it to this chassis, but that is probably more work than I'm looking for. Lol

Picked up the truck from the body shop today. Since we are cleaning out the entire store to make room for construction, I came across our early 90s magnetic decals. Decided to rock em on the truck today.

This is our original dealer logo from 1973. We've since changed it but I'm a sucker for nostalgic things. When this generation truck was sold on our lots in the 90s, this was the exact logo we used.
