you realize there is a tire and wheel section?

As to your question

IMO the 265/40/18 is a bit wide for a 8" rim, it's a bit of a push on a 8.5" rim and really meant for a 9" min rim. The MT is a good tire and I pulled 1.6x 60s with it on my 06GT.

The P245/40R18, a bit short depending on your gears @ 25.8" is a better fitment, however with a blower I think it's a bit narrow.

A 18 x 8 rim is really a tough rim to get a proper sized DR.

Seems like 285/35/18 nitto 555r's are a no-go then on an 18x8. They need more options now that every car manufacturer is going to larger OEM wheels.

BMR has the 265/40/18's on stock 18x8 wheels cutting 1.50 sixty foot times with them. I think he would be just fine running them....

my friend has a M&H 275/45/18 drag radial on his 11 gt and it looks good on the wheel and hooks great at the track!

M&H runs small. I have 325/40/18 on a 10" and looks perfect

You just said a 265 was too big for an 8" wheel but then you run a 325 on a 10" that's an even bigger size difference, 265 in a M&T drag radial is fine plenty of people run them with great success

Two different tires my friend. I also consulted M&H before I bot them, they gave me the go ahead on fitment, M&H run small vs. MTs. I also ran a 265/40 on a 8.5" and know how they bulged a bit.

If u read my post as well u see I said their a good tire and I had success with them. While they may work on a 8", its not an optimal fitment.

So based on my experience, these is my opinions, take 'em or leave 'em, makes no difference to me.

I would say more like a 305.

Something else to consider in comparing tire fitment, the taller sidewall makes the tire ok to fit on a narrower rim vs. a short side wall.

So where a 305/45/18 is ok on a 9.5" rim a 305/30/18 is spec'd to a minimum 10"

A great tire size for the 8.5" rim is 255 45 18... gives you factory ride height and plenty of sidewall, not sure if they offer that size from MT.

No such animal in a DR.
