Hey all. I have been doing some research, but have come up empty. Way too much info out there. I am asking for help. I bought the Boss 302S wheels, 9" front, 10" in back. The fronts I am going with the Michelin PSS 275/40/19. Those should be perfect. I am asking for help in the rear as I want the widest tire, but do not want to protrude past the fender. I would like to put 305/35/19 in the back. The wheel has a 47.5mm offset. Does anyone know if this will stick out past the fender?
Thanks, Frankie Lap.

It should be fine but will bulge. My Fiance' Boss is running 19x10" Boss 302S wheels on all corners.

285/35/19 Front
295/35/19 Rear - it's a little fat but not too bad and doesn't come past the fender.

Thanks Cam. I better go go 295/35/19 in the rear. I don't want the bulging look and definitely don't want it sticking past the fender. The sticky had too much info for me. Lol. I'm a little "simple". Thanks for the info and the pics!!
Beautiful rides you guys have.

Yeah, there is quite an overload of info on there. Happy to help and thanks!

Yes sir there is. If I knew anything except how to pump gas I may have been able to figure it out. I'm trying to learn tho. Thanks again.

@ford20, Hey Giovanni, I'm ordering the tires this week. Can't wait to get them on!!!

Hey guys, 1 more question. If I go 295/35/19 in the rear, they are 27.1" tall.
Now for the front if I put 265/40/19 they are 27.3" tall. Pretty close. I really wanted 275, but if I go 275/40/19 they are 27.7". Is 27.7" in the front to tall for 27.1" in the rear?

What's stopping you from doing a 19x10 in the front? 255/40 would probably work better if not the 265/40 if you must have a larger tire. 275/40 will look really strange on a 9" wheel.

Thanks Cam. Well, when I bought the wheel package they came 9" front and 10" in back. I never gave it much thought thinking the 10's were too big in the front.
Right now I have 255/45/18 in front, 275/40/18 in rear. I didn't know any better, the guy from tire rack told me what to use. But I hate that set up. The 45's in front look like shit.
I wonder if the Boss has a wider fender in front than my '06 GT. I hate to exchange the 9" to 10" and they're too wide. If I remember correctly, my car was dropped an 1 1/2".

I know that the 05-09 rear fenders are a tad bit wider than the 10-14. I'm not sure about the front.

This is my go-to place for seeing wheel/tire fitments. Play around with it some to see what the differences are.

I think I am going to stay with the staggered look. Part of the reason is I already have the wheels in my possession, and I have seen them on other cars, they look pretty cool. I know you said the 275/40/19 would look strange on the front. So I used the tire chart, and if I go 295/35/19 in the rear on a 10" wheel, that's 27.1". If I go 265/40/19 in the front on a 9" wheel, that's 27.3". They will be close to the same height. Do think the 265's will look ok on the 9" front wheel?

I've seen 275/40/19 on 9"-wide Brembo wheels and they look perfect, nice square sidewalls.
The 255/40/19 tires that Ford puts on there from the factory are actually stretched a bit
I had 275/40/19 on 10"-wide rims and they were stretched a bit

I am going to put the Michelin Pilot Super Sport. They have a few different tires in the same size. They have ones recommended for Mercedes, and one for BMW. So I was going to go with the ones recommended for BMW because they had the widest tread width. But I may have to call tire rack and ask what the deal is. My concern is, last time I ordered from them, I was led in the wrong direction and ended up with 255/45/18 in the front on a 9.9" wheel. They looked round and had a giant sidewall. That's why I'm a little nerved up, this is a big purchase for me and I want to get it right this time. I wanted 275/40/18 on all corners, but said they wouldn't fit on the front. He was wrong and I never liked the look. They were the BF Goodrich g-force KDW 2. I am trying to post a pic, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Ok, so I couldn't load a pic here, but I was able to on my public profile, so you can see the wheels there.

Are these the wheels?

I have those same wheels, they're the wheels Ford installed on the 2010 GT500 convertible, size 18x9.5 front and rear.

I have them as a spare set, they currently have 285/40/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires on the fronts ('07-'09 GT500 rear tires) and 305/40/18 Nitto 555R's on the rears.
Both tires fit great.
A bit tight clearance against the side of the strut on the front, but installing a small spacer takes care of any worries.

I also had 275/40/18 Continental DWS's on these wheels for a while, they fit perfectly, with the sidewall having no bulge or stretch, just a perfect square set-up

Do you have the 18" version of those wheels or the 19" ?

I have the 18's on there now. I can't believe the pic showed up. Lol. If you can see, the front tires are rounded, I hate that look. So I am getting rid of these and bought the 2012 Leguna Seca Wheels. Went with the 19" this time. So I'm looking to get the widest tires on the 9" front and 10" rear. But the problem is, I want them to look good with square sidewalks, not bulging like the front is now.
Wow, 305 on a 9.5" wheel, I didn't know they could handle that. Tire rack shows 10.5" is best for 305. But then again, I could be reading the chart wrong.

The 305/40/18 fits well only because of the 40-series sidewall. If it was shorter the bulging would be excessive and the fitment would be considered unsafe.
And yeah the 255/45/18 is a bit stretched on a 9.5-wide wheel. Ford keeps doing that, even the newer fitment of 265/40/19 on a 9.5-wide wheel is a bit stretched.
A bit stretched is perfect from a handling standpoint though.
You don't want the tire falling on its sidewall under hard cornering
