Cobra Jet hood scoop problems

I have a Cobra Jet hood scoop and it has a surprising amount of flex for being a race car part. The paint is starting to crack at the "corner" of the scoop:

I love the look of the scoop but the flex and paint cracking is annoying. Anyone have suggestions to keep it from flexing? I was thinking that spraying bedliner on the inside of it might help.

What's it made of? The only way to keep it from cracking is to reinforce the corners. Most pure race stuff is light weight and functional. Bed liner isn't going to do much.

It's aluminum.
