I did a search but had no luck, but will a 4v cobra crank work in a 3v aluminum block...

The Cranks are interchangeable on all 4.6 blocks. The differences are in whether or not they require 6 bolt or 8 bolt flywheels. There are a few 6 bolt forged Cranks out there believe it or not.
