Tried calling to get the discount code and the customer service rep said it had to come from Shane and order had to be placed on line for the discount to be applied. So no it wasn't faster as I didn't have a direct phone number for Shane.....

6% off isnt bad at all for an ongoing discount that is on top of any sale prices they have. Some other places like cj pony parts offers 5%. And hey, money is money. If you spend $500 thats still an extra $30 in your pocket just by entering a simple code at checkout. Don't see how thats stupid. Its just a nice little extra they offer. They don't have to offer it at all.

if you don't want to use the code then don't, the way I see it saving some cash if better then none.

So I tried to use the discount code to order some Steeda lower ball joints. Online site said they were not eligible for the discount? I didn't know it was item specific.

I assume the code hasn't changed lately..
