What says the hive? Will a scissor lift give enough room for a bottom install, or will it get in the way of the trans and such?

Idk about a scissor lift exactly, but installing the motor from the bottom is a lot easier.

I'm planning on putting the motor, k-member, and transmission on a platform, then dropping the car down on top of it, bolting up the k-member and transmission cross member, then taking the car back up.

There are no automotive scissor lifts that I am aware of that will allow you to pull and install a motor from the bottom. The lift and lift points get in the way of the k-member bolts and blocks the k-member itself, preventing it from being removed.

You really need a two post lift with swing away arms.
