Ok guys, got everything setup. I'm attempting to make these wheels work on the back. They're 15x10 7.5" BS and are very close to fitting. I'll post pictures as I go since trying to find an S197 with these wheels is HARD, but finding a legit thread on getting them to fit is nearly impossible. So here we go!

Got the stocker off, leaving my nemesis caliper exposed. I will be using a $30 walmart $30 angle grinder and a can of yellow spray paint. Oh, and eye pro... duh.

Got the caliper marked and test fit to see where contact is being made

You can see some marking on the top of the caliper, so that's where I'll start

Make sure you remove that caliper retaining clip as well. Sway bar relocation also has to be done I assume?

Still hitting the top middle section after about 6 grinding sessions, but got the bottom to clear. It's also barely touching the front of the caliper bracket, so I can either grind it or run a small spacer. We'll see when the time comes.

Getting close. I went a got a 5/16" spacer and helped get it comfortably off the front of the bracket. Gotta hang it up for the night since my neighbors don't appreciate grinding metal at 10p [emoji44]

Update: After lots of grinding on the caliper, I found that the wheel still rubs on the actual caliper pins. Since I can't grind on those, I've opted for the BPS Lightweight Brake Relocation kit. It's a 10.5" cross drilled/slotted rotor and new bracket, but retains the OEM caliper. This kit was only $199 from VMP and saves roughly 5.5lbs per side as a bonus. This with the sway relo should get these wheels on!

Will anyone help me out and tell me what the next step in removing axles is? Just popped the diff cover and drained the fluid and now I feel like I'm staring at a Transformer's vag.

I believe the 2 gears that are pointing forward/rearward have a pin going through them that has to be removed, then they can be dropped, that spring in the center dropped out and the clips holding the axle's removed.

Not 100% sure how that first pin is removed, just poke around youll find it :p

Ok, it looks like there's a little 8mm bolt holding the pin in. Any special precautions to take when removing/installing C clips?

That 8mm bolt is holding the differential pin in place. That pin passes through the carrier, "s" spring, and the spider gears. The axles pass through the side gears and are held in place by the c-clips. Remove the 8mm bolt and the differential pin will slide out. Remove the "s" spring (you will likely have to pry a little). Turn the wheels so that you can see the spider gears and they will basically fall out with the pin now removed. Push one axle inwards (toward the center of the car) to reveal the c clip. The c clip can easily be removed with a magnet or pick (it may just fall out). Slide out the axle being careful to not damage the axle seal (it is a good time to replace it with the proper tools). Push remaining axle inwards and repeat the step to remove the other axle.
Special precautions? It is pretty straight forward. Use a quality tool to remove the 8mm bolt. It is held in place with lock-tite and you would not want to strip the head. Also, some folks like to "flip" the c clip when they are re-installed to get the axle to wear on different part of the clip. YMMV. Make sure that you clean out all of the gear oil. There is "pocket" or low spot in the housing right behind the lower most rear cover bolt. It collects most of the debris as the lsd clutches wear. Clean that out well. It is a procedure missed by folks who use a differential cover with a drain and/ or those that are in a hurry to reassemble the rear end.
Good luck.

Thanks guys. I didn't have to remove the S spring to remove the axles. I just pushed in and was able to remove the C clip. Here's the progress tonight:

I spent an hour scraping gray RTV off of the diff cover and still didn't get it all, so sealing the rear end and bolting these wheel up is tomorrow's plan!
