Anyone else have a less than perfect finish on their forgestars? Incomplete coverage of the gunmetal paint/powdercoat showing what I guess is primer underneath?

American Muscle wants them sent back to them, and they are going to send another set. I asked for them to check the rims before sending them out, and they agreed but its going to delay the rims by another day...

Worst part is I waited for these to come to Canada, now I need to send them back before they send out the new ones and todays a holiday.. Ugh, I guess I am impatient

took me 17 weeks to get my forgestars beat that. basically the powder didnt get a good/thick enough coat in those areas. My current wheel color (i chnaged it from what I had intially ordered) has patchy areas too but on the car its hard to see.

id say the quality is going down now that theyre being sold by a big retailer and need to be more readily available

Mine are fine. I have an extra layer of powder coat too...from the brakes.

I got mine like 3.5 years ago....textured black. ....for what they cost the finish sucked dick. Forgestars customer service sucked, etc.

Mine that I got thru Vorshlag don't have that problem. I guess I lucked out!

I wouldn't break out the Tar & Feathers just yet because if this were an epidemic I think we would see a lot more examples of this being posted online.

There are a lot. I was told back then that they went from in house to outsourcing to in house coating and there were bad batches. They were literally prepared to do nothing for me and I waited almost 6 months for these. My gripes may be knit picking but for the cost it's not acceptable.

I've read about a lot of people having similar issues with forge star wheels' finish, there are many threads over the last few years on SVTP about it

I don't blame you, I'd be pretty ticked off in that situation.

Mine look fine, but they are the hyper silver finish, and this sort of problem with the powder coating probably wouldn't show up as much with my finish anyway.

The finish on my Avant Gardes is similarly shit. It's really thin in the same areas, and is flaking off everywhere. I love the wheels, but the durability of the finish is very disappointing.

American Muscle sent someone down to open boxes check finish, repack them and ship them out. So far 2 have been sent out, so I hope that means they are finding good ones. So far I am happy with how american muscle is handling this, hopefully I get a set of wheels with acceptable finish !

I suspect that American Muscle is having their wheels built from beginning to end at the factory.

We haven't had any issues, but we have our wheels finish machined and coated in the US. They take a little longer, but we don't have the issues pointed out here.

That's because they are.

The wheels purchased from American Muscle are different than forgestars from elsewhere..? Never would have thought that
