I understand that. I have everything I need but unknowingly bought a 2010 hat and pumps. I've been told it won't work in my 2006 ft. Thoughts?

Why would the 2010 hat not work? Isn't it just a matter of swapping in the 2006 level sensor and dropping the hat in the tank?
