GT500 HID Projector Retrofit Swap

doing a GT500 front end swap and decided to do a projector swap on them... thought about paint matching the inside of the lenses, but think im going to do a full black out on the inside of the headlights... got the parts in today. going to start taking the lenses off in the morning when i get home from work... still undecided about adding halo rings... i think probably not.

projectors with shrouds... not to happy with the shroud that came with them cause they dont clip on... they will have to be glued

might add projectors to the fogs too... undecided... may make a billet fog light to resemble the 7" Billet lights i make

I believe you can buy the Shroud Centric Rings from the retrofit source to attach the shrouds with out glue.

heres the ones i did on my work truck. but on this dakota i had to make my own clear lenses cause no one makes them. i made a vacuum table and a negative form to make them.

lense turned out pretty good

i am still learning to make my own lenses the passenger cracked on me when i tried to get it off the mold cold. the key is to keep it semi-warm...

Dunno... Soon? Car still in storage and needs a clutch and I'm still on 12 every night. And car is 3 hours from me. This month sometime.

What lenses/shrouds did you get? I was looking at the FX-R or TL ones if I were to do it.

How hard/easy was it to take the lenses off the headlights? I heard that ford glue is a bitch.

It wasn't too bad. I've had easier lights... I baked the light in the oven at 200* for 10 min. Took a flat blade and pried at the upper corner and kept doing that little by little. As it cooled I put back in open. The very bottom and top are the hardest. Ford put these clips you gotta bend out of the way. I used a heat gun for persuasion. I have a hook up for ford parts at dealer cost plus ship. I can quote you a set if you'd like? And I could disassemble them for you.

Just the projector in our big housings look funny to me, I think they need the regular reflector to remain
