i plan on forging the engine, rods pistons and polished ported heads on a 4.0. im probably going to supercharge. what brand supercharger? and the purpose of this thread is should i run a water methanol kit? or nitrous? or both?

In lieu of any meaningful responses, I'll say:

A non-intercooled Vortech kit with a cheap, boost activated meth injection kit is probably your best bang for buck.

However, with the V6 a positive displacement blower will probably be more fun, and will add some low end and midrange 'grunt'. The X-Charger setup seems to be popular.

Hopefully some knowledgeable 6-banger guys chime in...good luck.

a friend of mine had the x charger. it took a lot for him to keep up with my n/a gt.

I've got the intercooled Vortech kit. Well worth the money; more power than the X and less money. Once I started injecting methanol I was able to hit 372rwhp with a 15 psi pulley. Stock internals. At those power levels, forged internals and SSM parts aren't needed.

And under no circumstance should you run FI and Nitrous, even with forged internals. Too many 4.0s have blown up because of that.
