OK So I did my research correctly, but the Metra kit I ordered is correct for my car
Metra told me that I need a XSVI-5521-NAV for my car
Something about my car being made in jan 2008 its a early production YADA YADA
I dont a have a NAV from the Factory unit.My car came with the Shaker 500

He also said that I could just pick up the Ignition 12Volt off of another source.
That appears to be the only issue i am having .
My car harness has the 12 volt ign on the top row and Metra built theirs on the bottom row. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to say GEE thanks Im glad I bought your harness
Ill be jacking with it tonight, but this is a pain in the ass

Yea Shaker is out

But this Fricken Metra harness is a piece of SHIT
And Metra tech support SUCKS

I loose 12 volt Ignition source and I loose the Illumination wire to my deck
WTF!!!!!

and I have not even found out if the @#@$%^^^c Speaker wires are correct

SIGH
I can live without dimming the unit
So looks like I will find my own IGN 12 Volt source for the deck and use this Piece of SHIT Metra Harness fro the Speakers

Stay tuned if the $#%$^% Speakers dont work right I may go Ballistic

Man. I could have saved you a lot of time and headache with that harness. You can go to the fuse box in the passenger kicks me get a switched 12v ign source and dimmer is at the light switch or you can get switched 12 volt at the ign switch itself.

Its all good
The problem was the junk harness from Metra, it didnt supply the IGN 12 volt
I had already run a IGN 12 volt source over for the gauges, I tapped into that.
I have everything wired but the new sub, Stereo works gauges work.
But I have to shim the Custom panel for the stereo backup.
Ill get to that tomorrow nite.
Oh and the dimmer
I have been reading up on that I cant tell if the Kenwood needs a 12 volt source to dim or a variable source like from the light switch. So I left it disconnected for now. Didnt want to fry the Dimmer switch on the car, I have read that its possible for that to happen
But for now ( I win )

That's cool bud. If you have any stereo questions. Hit me up. It's what I do for a living. Don't mind to lend some knowledge if I can.

Thnaks Josh Its slow But Im getting there
I hope to start on the turbo next weekend better late then never

Did run into an issue
I bought a subwoofer in a box from a member here several months ago
I hooked up to my son car for like 3 minutes.
it seemed to have a rattlle and then quit.
I contacted the seller and told him, he thought maybe something like a wire came loose in shipping.
So I told him i would check and it seemed to be ok?
Well today I got the sub installed and it really seems to be blown ?
It rattles really bad. Now he said he had ported the box. I see a hole in the box but no tube, my son thinks there should be a PVC tube in there. So i screwed a piece of board over the hole, that seemed to make it worse
SIGH. I wouldnt be worried , but its a JL sub and I paid $250
So I have PM the guy I got it from to see what he thinks, I may take it buy a stereo shop to check out

But hey I had good help today

Lol. You can't just cut a hole in a box and call it ported. That is a no no. If its rattling. The voice cool came unwound an is rubbing the edges. Unless its a expensive speaker it's not cost effective in fixing. For porting or venting a box you have to actually tune it to the box size and frequency you want. So there is no way that being messed up is your fault. I would say it was damaged before you received it.

Hope I can get it resolved, its a nice box and setup.
I am no expert. But I blocked off the open hole and it seemed worse
I even switched polarity on the speaker wires but no go.

Sealing the box up is fine. It was designed that way. It sounds worse like that because it is more pressure on the sub. There are about 6 different lines of jl audio subs. Is it a w3? Jl usually has to have them sent in for repair through an authorized dealer. They have serial numbers they check on them. My old shop was a jl signature dealer and they don't bs around on repairing stuff. If I hear it in a video I should be able to tell you what it is. The least that they will do is recone the speaker. Which could cost 200$.
