SO im buying a few bottles of motul rbf 600s from a local guy on craigslist.

Whats the shelf life for the RBF. He said hes had it for a month.

I also asked whether its sealed and it is.

One other thing im worried about is that the picture on the front is different from anything i can find online.

I dont want to be getting knock off rbf and have my brakes fail.

What do you guys think. Should i just buy it?

The specific stuff you want is labeled "Motul RBF600 Factory Line." Accept no substitutes. The genuine goods have a pretty healthy shelf life if unopened... It's nitrogen packaged from the factory, but if opened, no more than a month or so before it starts getting "iffy." RBF660 is NOT the same stuff. It has a slightly higher dry boiling point, but wet, that point plummets like a rock.

FWIW, the stuff's not THAT expensive, so if there's any question about what he really has, just go to a "real" vendor (Pegasusautoracing.com, HRPworld.com, hell, even Scummit has the stuff) and get it right the first time. Even if you were getting it from him for 30% off, you're still only talking about saving $10, so...

Try local foreign car repair shops - they may stock it and you can drive and pick it up.
