how would you have finished it? there is limited space both in the vehicle, and not enough that would really warrant PVC with a rubber cap. maybe in the future......or on a 2nd retro.....

Aw man! I believe you used the same shroud I did :(.

Good choice! I almost kept the shroud chrome, but decided to paint it black.

Looks good! I think I may do another at some point, with some more elegant mounting

I wouldn't have it done it better myself either lol. Just was expecting something cleaner.

I've done a lot retrofitting myself and failed 2 times on my mustang. No functionality wise but just look wise.

I had thought about some PVC extension, blahblahblah but it really wasn't worth it to me. This should work fine

wish they'd just offer decent, non-rice, aftermarket that looked that good. Great work. If you look into doing them for members at some point I would be very interested.

If I could figure out some brackets, possibly. I know of a guy who does a lot of s197 retro work, his skills are gar beyond mine, and he charges standard labor (not cheap)

Honestly it's not hard if you use the mini h1 bixenons.

Aftermarket headlights off eBay are easier to open than oem ford ones as well.

I've done a couple mh1 retros, but they are too small for these housings IMO. They fit really well in my fiance's Malibu though

true. the FXR beam pattern (and the fact that i had these laying around) is why i went with them.

plus, the minis are really meant to mount with the integral shaft, which would have put them much further out than i wanted.

Only issue I've had is one of the adjustment clips is a bit loose (crappy housings) and I had to reseal them. Output wise, they have been phenomenal.

The tape didn't want to stick to the plastic, so I removed it and used butyl to seal the back. Added some more butyl to the lenses channel as well.

I have the same issue. The aftermarket housing is really flimsy and while I was adjusting the passenger side it broke and came lose.

So it just points down to the ground.

Just ordered some raxiom headlights to run in the meantime as I go back and really take my time on redoing these.
