I've been looking for one of these for the past 4 or 5 years now, either to build or buy restored. After some arguing with myself for about a month, I finally bit on this beauty and thought I'd share. I decided if I were to build one myself, this is pretty close to how I would have done it, and it probably would have cost twice as much. So I let someone else put all the work and money in and bought it as is. The car is a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 2-Door Hardtop. It was originally a 390 4-speed car with bench seat. After 88,000 miles, it was completely disassembled. The original 390 was discarded in favor of a 428ci Cobra Jet engine from a '69 R-code Mustang that sadly met it's demise in a rear end collision. The original 4-speed was also swapped for a Tremec Top Loader TKO 5-speed. Since the restoration and build, the car had 1400 miles on it. I loaded up a trailer and headed to Arizona to check it out. Looked everything over, drove it for about an hour in 118* heat with no A/C, loaded it up and brought it home. Here are a few details:

428 Cobra Jet Engine
-Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Heads
-Edelbrock Performer Dual Quad Aluminum Intake
-Dual Holley 600cfm Carbs
-Roller Rockers
-Edelbrock Aluminum Water Pump
-Aluminum 9-Quart Oil Pan
-MSD Electronic Ignition
-Be Cool Heavy Duty Aluminum Radiator
-Jet Coated Long Tube headers
5-speed Tremec TKO Top Loader Trans.
Centerforce Clutch/PP
Hurst Pro Shifter with Line Lock
Ford 9" Rear End
Strange 3.70 Posi-Trac Rear Diff
Moser 33-spline Axles
4-Link Rear Suspension w/ Air Shocks
Subframe Connectors
4 Wheel Disc Brakes

And a few Pics: These pics are from the dealer I purchased the car from. It has been cold and rainy since I got back with the car so I haven't had a chance to snap some of my own. I'll get a few with the Mustang and post them up soon.

Congrats!! Looks very nice and well taken care of. Are you planning on driving and enjoying it or just showing it?

Thanks everyone, finally had a nice enough day so I took it out for a cruise and had a blast. Little bit different than my newer hot rods I'm used to, if you don't manhandle this thing it will make you it's bitch, haha.

I'll drive it on nice nights and weekends, I'm not afraid to put some miles on it. It's going to get enjoyed. Plan on putting it in a few local car shows as well.

Here is a short video the guy selling it made, skip to 1:15 to hear it run. I'm planning on changing the exhaust up a bit. It sounds very raspy and has that annoying glasspack sound, I think the small rolled tips at the tailpipes have something to do with that. Or it might need a different set of mufflers, I'll mess with it a little bit until I get it the way I want it.

Looks great, love the interior. Needs some chrome rocker panels though to match the other chrome trim.

Awesome car. I like the ones you don't see every day. You appreciate them that much more.
