Captain Hindsight
Been a while since I've updated this thread. This car has been quite the experience for me. Getting it to run right with the dual quad setup has been interesting to say the least, I'm not very familiar with the older fuel and ignition setups but I've finally got it running pretty good with the help of a local old school Ford mechanic. One thing I learned that was most interesting to me was how big of a difference ethanol-free fuel makes. It's like night and day, and I would have been chasing driveability ghosts forever if I hadn't coincidentally filled up with ethanol-free fuel one day. It still does have a little bit of a flat spot on throttle tip-in that I'm trying to get rid of, but compared to how it ran when I got it she moves out pretty good. A little more tweaking here and there and I'll be happy. Also had the mechanical clutch linkage come apart while I was out cruising a few months ago. Turns out the only thing holding the lower clutch rod into the clutch fork is a small cotter key. Drove it home and into my garage about 10 miles without a clutch, pants were nearly shat. I did end up switching out the Magnaflow mufflers for some Flowmaster 40's and it sounds much better in my opinion, not so raspy and a lot cleaner and deeper sound. Other than that I just try to keep a close eye on everything mechanically and this thing has been nothing but a blast to drive. A friend of mine is trying to get his photography business up and running and offered to do a shoot with my cars, so here are a few newer pics and one with my Mustang. Enjoy!
