Wow!! I wonder if the excessive pinion angle had anything to do with the premature demise of your rear gear... side load trashes the pinion bearing, which allows slop, which trashes the ring gear...

Yeah, that was probably the cause of half the problems with the damn car, i have no idea how i overlooked it before.

Its always the simple things, huh? lol

the ring gear wasnt his problem with his rearend, whoever installed the r&p in the first place put too much preload on the side bearings, which then broke apart and locked the ring gear to the pinion causing the pinion to chip off and lock

to make things worse as they locked it caused the pinion to shatter...kaldar has the old r&p after i did the install and maybe he could put up a few pics of the cracked pinion...it was bad!
