Do you guys think I can make this work with an dye and cut some starting threads at the top?

Bah off to look for a thread where someone has removed the stud itself.

Throw that shit out and get a new stud or a nut and a bolt.

I am thinking cut off with dremel. The drill hole put an bolt in it. Fdjizm when you did this did you take off the manifold?

I took a blow torch to the stock stud and no I didn't take off the manifold. Eventually got it off with a long extension and a big ratchet.
Try harder to get the stud off you're going to have the worst time of your life trying to drill through it to make a hole.

Every single time I stripped an exhaust manifold stud like that I was working on it cold. I've never stripped one when the engine was still warm.

Looks like the other one was replaced at one time.
See if you can get that stud out; you can put a wrench on the bigger part closer to the manifold. Use some PB, heat, whatever, to break it loose. Worst case it will break off.

Or, back to your original question: what about grinding down the threads near the end, making it a nearly smooth stud part of the way, and then use a die to cut threads and use a smaller nut? That won't be as strong as a full-diameter stud, but I suppose it could work.
I'd try to get the stud out first.

Heat joint, smack end of stud with a drift and hammer a few times (Helps loosen thread wedge.) Turn stud out with deep socket/?

I ended up snapping it off then I drilled it out and put a nut and a bolt in it. Quick question are the threads on it reverse? Right loosens?

Regular threads on both ends of the stud. Lefty loosey.
