Phaser without reluctor/spring

My reluctor/spring assembly was basically coming off from the phaser so I decided to completely remove it in hopes I could run it that way since I run lockouts. Anyone know if this is for sure ok or should I toss out 100$ for something I'm just gonna use to attach a chain to......

You still need that, your cam position sensor works off that even if you have lockouts.
