Tonight was definitely one of the better nights for racing, it had rained yesterday really hard so that cleaned up the track and cooled down the temps A LOT. By some miracle I got off work at 3pm and had plenty of time to get the car ready (take everything out). Everything else was ready... gas was at a suitable level, i put in royal purple oil the day before, and the M&H's were on.

I was #12 tonight, and the first of the street tired cars to run. My first run on a hot engine (only had a 30min cooldown) was my best so far (barely):

60': 1.784
330': 5.181
1/8: 8.007
MPH: 86.76
1000': 10.478
1/4: 12.581
MPH: 106.83

so i beat my best time by 3/1000 of a second. i'll be sure to update the sig lol

The next run got a 2 hour cooldown and I also took the serpentine belt off to try and get the best time possible since the weather and the track were being perfect. This run was against a cammed GTO and he said he typically gets 11.9x's. This is where the fun starts. I took him off the line by a lot, and then kept my lead the whole time. I finished with a little more than one car length on him.
When I went to get my timeslip, the numbers didn't make ANY sense because something tripped the time sensors before I did... what it was I'll never know for sure just as I may never know my exact time for that run. Here they are in order on my slip:

R/T: 3.282 (yeah f'ing right)
60': -no time printed-
330': 1.925
1/8: 4.705
MPH: 87.85 (only number that seems right)
1000': 7.137
1/4: 9.203 (lol)
MPH: 109.03

So yeah wtf... the mph for the 1/8 mile is the only number that is consistent with the run I did. I talked to the GTO owner and his slip was accurate. i didn't have a pen to jot down all the numbers, but his 1/4 time and speed was this:

60': 2.022 (he hopped off the line)
1/4: 12.367
MPH: 114.30

SO.... I was obviously going faster than that time.... DEFINITELY in the 12.2x's, maybe better considering I had a little more than a car length on him. He agreed with the distance also.
Is there any way we can figure a ballpark as to what my 1/4 time and speed were on the run? I am pretty angry that it got screwed up... but if I can do it once I can do it again. I may go again next thursday if the weather is nice like today, or I may just wait a while more to get my tune fixed up real nice an' purty and go when it's colder out. I still want to get as close to an 11 second slip as I possible can while N/A.

Okay I ran this calculator http://www.wallaceracing.com/etcalc.php with just the MPH from the 1/8 and came up with this:

60 Foot 1.70
330 Foot 4.92
660 Foot 7.74
660 MPH 87.85
1000 Foot 10.18
1/4 Mile ET 12.26
1/4 Mile MPH 108.06

Just for comparison, I put in the 1/8 mph from the first run and it calculated this:

60 Foot 1.73
330 Foot 4.99
660 Foot 7.83
660 MPH 86.76
1000 Foot 10.31
1/4 Mile ET 12.42
1/4 Mile MPH 106.72

So it's really hard to say what is going on here..... I think this will just be 'the run that got away...."

Sweet times!.. I just hit 12.491 last night. I still drive like sheet though. I think another driver would hit 11s.... but not me though =-(

The funny thing is that I got it on video....hihi
If you look closely at the tree you can see that the stage light was already lighted when I pre-stage...

Anyways... I have convinced myself that I ran between a 12.25 and a 12.30 so I am very happy with that :) I could still cut alot of weight if I wanted too with a k-member and lighter arms, swaybar removal, aluminum race rims and skinnies.... etc

11's aren't that far off i guess
