I haven't had time to install my shortblock so it has been sitting in my basement. What should I do for storage and how often?

I have two shortblocks in the basement. Wrap the block up good along with a few dry packs. I also run a dehumidifier in the basement, and keep the block off the floor in case the sump pump fails.

Just make sure you liberally spray it with WD-40 on EVERY surface, then throw a garbage bag over it and tape it off.

This...especially if you're storing a shortblock in a garage.
Moisture and mud daubers can wreak havoc on a shortblock if you don't WD-40 and seal it up.
