Since the M&H 325/45/17's run quite small, would they be better to use over their 275/50/17's for a fully bolt-on N/A car for the track? IMO, would they be too tall and slow me down compared to the 275's?
would those 2 make same 26" tall ? im looking for a taller tire also. 28" but its a pita for 17" noone has anything in stock
I have and n/a car and was going to run 4.30's with the 275/50/17 because they were advertised as 28's. Are they not? And do the 325's fit on the factory 17x8's?
I have ran the 325/45/17 for a couple years before moving just a month ago to the 325/50/15.....
Anyway, I can tell you the 325/45/17 is a 28 tall tire. For a N/A car, as long as you have the gear, I would run the 325 as you would most certainly hook no matter what the track conditions. But make sure you have a 4.10 gear minimum, even 4.30 if you don't want that 28 tall to slow you down.
I ran the 275's the first half of the year and the 325's the second half of the year. They are pretty close to the same height. The 275's might be a 1/4 inch shorter. They are both approximately 28" tall. My experience is the M&H's run smaller width wise, not height wise. With a bolt on car, you won't have any problems with traction with 275's. I have a bolt on car and was ran a best of 1.71 60ft with them. That wasn't traction limited, it was car limited. I could drop the clutch at 5k and hook up great.
I was usually in the 1.72 range. To be honest, I didn't notice a big difference between the two. This is why I'm going to save myself some money and get the 275's this year.
i talked to m&h a while back about the 275's he told me you could run them on 8" rims no prob he said he actually had a guy run them on 7" and win a championship ...... now they would be better on a 9" but the 8 will work and i may be wrong lakers but i dont think its the height every1 talks about running small it's the width .....
what tire pressure u guys running in them?
I have mine set at 20 psi.
