Since the M&H 325/45/17's run quite small, would they be better to use over their 275/50/17's for a fully bolt-on N/A car for the track? IMO, would they be too tall and slow me down compared to the 275's?

Your right about no one having any in stock, but are you asking if M&H makes a 26" tall tire?

For a 17" M&H DR, they make 275/50, 325/45, and 390/40. According to my RPM spreadsheet, it is saying that with my 4.10's in the rear end, I'll have a 27.83" tire with the 275's, a 28.52" tire with the 325's, and a 29.28" tire with the 390's. Since they run shorter than advertised, it wouldn't be that though. Everyone says that the 325's are about equivalent to a true 275, so the 325's wouldn't be any where near a 28" tall tire, and that makes their 275's extremely short! This stuff is so confusing....

Someone experienced just tell me what tire I need so I'll be a happy camper and shut the hell up!

I have ran the 325/45/17 for a couple years before moving just a month ago to the 325/50/15.....

Anyway, I can tell you the 325/45/17 is a 28 tall tire. For a N/A car, as long as you have the gear, I would run the 325 as you would most certainly hook no matter what the track conditions. But make sure you have a 4.10 gear minimum, even 4.30 if you don't want that 28 tall to slow you down.

I have and n/a car and was going to run 4.30's with the 275/50/17 because they were advertised as 28's. Are they not? And do the 325's fit on the factory 17x8's?

That's my problem, if people are reporting back that the 325's are that much smaller, which in pictures you can tell that they are, then how are they actually 28"s tall? Which makes me think that the 275's aren't what they are advertised to be. No, you can't fit the 325's on a 17x8, you need at least a 17x9.

So, as long as I'm putting down enough power, and have a minimum of 4.10's in the rear, the 325's should be the way to go to optimize my ET's at the track?

I ran the 275's the first half of the year and the 325's the second half of the year. They are pretty close to the same height. The 275's might be a 1/4 inch shorter. They are both approximately 28" tall. My experience is the M&H's run smaller width wise, not height wise. With a bolt on car, you won't have any problems with traction with 275's. I have a bolt on car and was ran a best of 1.71 60ft with them. That wasn't traction limited, it was car limited. I could drop the clutch at 5k and hook up great.

What kind of 60's were you pulling with the 325's?

I was usually in the 1.72 range. To be honest, I didn't notice a big difference between the two. This is why I'm going to save myself some money and get the 275's this year.

Well shit, the look alone of the 325's mounted on some 17x9's is priceless! That's one reason why I'm hoping the 325's will best benefit me, but if for some God forsaken reason they don't, I'll settle with the 275's. I just want ET to come first here!

i talked to m&h a while back about the 275's he told me you could run them on 8" rims no prob he said he actually had a guy run them on 7" and win a championship ...... now they would be better on a 9" but the 8 will work and i may be wrong lakers but i dont think its the height every1 talks about running small it's the width .....

It is the width, but the width can affect the actual height of the tire according to the RPM spreadsheet I got from Don. Yes, the 275's fit fine on the stock 17x8's perfect. I believe Roper had, or has a pair of them on some stockers.

I'm running the 275/50/17's right now, they are 28" tall on some 17x9 rims.

I get consistant 1.6 60' with them.
after these wear out I'll be going with the 325's though.

I have mine set at 20 psi.

last time when i race i started the day at 20psi, i couldnt hook for hell it kept spinning was getting 2.0-2.1

I dropped down to 18psi then i got 1.90 w/ spin

then i droppe down to 17psi and got two back to back 1.84s

Odd thing is before when i had 3.55's i ran the tires at 20psi and i didnt spin i was hooking 1.99's then *shrug*.

now im running bracket this saturday and i have no idea what to do w/ my tire pressure lol :D
