Rear Rotor and pad install help need

I am install my rotorpros rear rotors and pads and I can't get the piston to screw in enough. I have the ford caliper tool and I am turning it put it not going in far enough. any suggestions?

go to autozone and rent their caliper tool, it will push the actual piston in allowing you to slip the caliper on over the pads/rotor

naa i just used the tool to push it in but if you have a large pair of pliers and some good ole fashioned muscle you can do it too.

I used my fingers. some clamps would work great

Interesting... my rear brakes were definitely the screw in type. The fronts weren't... just used a clamp on them.

To the OP... it can sometimes be a PITA to get the pistons back in. Make sure the cap is off the master cylinder to start with. After that, it's just some muscle.

+1...Rear are screw in. I rented the caliper tool from auto zone.

I had the same problem......you have too loosen up the bleeder so the piston can go back...otherwise you'll be spinning it all week without mooving it an inch:idea: :beerchug2:

i had this really handy matco tool that pushes and screws at the same time :)

knocked that biatch out in like 15 secs lol

the tool from autozone pushed and screw at the same time but it didn't do anything until i went the opposite way. I am happy now

I guess I may need this tool for the rear then eh? Gonna switch out my pads and front rotors

good to know. i'll be getting my baer decelarotors and pads put in tomorrow as soon as fedex gets them delivered.

i wasnt aware the rear calipers were the screw in type....thats good to know...anyone have some pics?
