I've got some wax and compound on the black plastic trim peices. What's the best product to remove it? I've heard of using peanut butter. Just curious what's the best product. Thanks!

have you tried IPA 50/50? Make sure not to get it on any of the paint because it will strip the wax you just applied but it will not harm the paint.

Edit: maybe us a q-tip or some sort of small brush to help agitate the polish and help get it off.

Peanut butter also works, but to go one step further, its actually the oil in it that does the removing. May as well just use vegetable oil. That works wonders as well.

I tried Peanut Butter on my GT500 flaps on the rear bumper and it worked well. I am going to try some other areas tonight.

OK so how does this work, just spread on a small layer and wash off?

I was told a eraser works also?

Omg you guys are nuts....

I use mcguiers tech protect interior shine. I use it on all the black plastic trim. It cleans off the white wax spills and shines up the plastic to a glossy new finish. Peanut butter.....seriously. Lol

It's not going to remove polish etc. Vegetable oil is just an old detailers trick.

I tried dish soap and a tooth brush, it got the wax off but it took forever, probably too much work. I should try peanut butter at some point.

Dawn will actually dry out your trim. i would use an alternative.

Back to black. Its cheap and works!

Back to Black sucks horribly...I bought a bottle, used it once and was less than impressed.
Tossed the remainder in the trash.

So many other better products out there than that.

If you like it, well...you like it. But it really isn't very good.
