Grabber Blue, awesome! Most of the pics are only thumbnails and not clickable :(

Seeing as how you've done a few BIW builds, plus your own car, what do you think is the most challenging or difficult part of the build?

Also--what do you do with the wrecked cars once you've yanked the drivetrain? Do you part out the useable parts, or just scrap the whole thing?

In for future updates!

I have a garage full of boxes of mustang parts. Actually the most difficult part is sourcing race car parts to complete the car , stripping the old car and selling parts.

I've done it enough now so I know what size bolt it is and where it is helps with taking the cars apart. It was diffucult the first time taking it apart but now it's nothing.

after I get the car stripped I Just haul it to my local scrap yard and get steel scrap money for what is left of the tub. "usually not much is left though" This car well get the front clip sold from it so really all that will be left is the rear section of the tub .

So this will be your second road race S197? Is it for a different class or something or just because?
Actually I'm building this car for a fellow racer that sold his hpde track car and is going door to door racing now

Well, It now runs. This weekend the under side was done. Painting, installing rear brake lines and fuel lines, gas tank, driveshaft and saftey loop, exhaust, brackets and misc items.

The dash was done as well, ac box holes sealed, installed main frame and then trimmed dash to fit around roll cage.

this week the suspension will be installed along with the rear axle.

Looks amazing, very nice work and detail. Do you have a gallery anywhere? Also, what does a "shell" cost new?

the new 2010 shells

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=11448

I bought the last few 05/09. ford racing sent out a email to key dealers a few months back discounting all remaining 05/09 s197 shells to make room for 2010

prices so low it was just "CRAZY" to mention lol.

I will say! That is really reasonable. Are there any diferences between it and say a production shell? Did they omit anything, holes, mounting tabs or interior assembly points?

Oh, the album link is not good.

It's a lot to go through but those are some great cars! You have it going on! What's up with the white car in the first album? That's the new engine..

5k for a shell. WOW thats actually a really good deal for race cars. Drag or RR.

I'm guessing with the seat belt bolt holes welded they will never be titled.

will start on suspension and install rear axle this week. This car will make it's first race end of March at VIR.

enjoy
