thats some money right their.

And of course Ford will say that. They will make more money. Sorry but I wouldn't listen to a thing they say unless your car is stock. Ford Techs are as useful in the aftermarket world as Hilary Clinton is towards anything
And this is where you would be wrong this time.

Actually...the new crew at FRPP happen to be quite sharp. Most of the guys at PRI were engineers who got the opportunity to come over and work at FRPP. The big bore will always make more power than the stroker. Torque will increase but the horsepower will show up in a big way. Anytime you can unshroud the valves you will make more power.

Should someone decide to go with the 5.4 the really hot ticket is to go with the big bore sleeves and destroke the crank to 3.75". Several builders have tried the 5.4 from 350-380" and it has proven to be a pig. Anything larger than 358" just does not make power. Recently, several racers/builders have done the big bore/destroked 5.4 and the engine just sings. N/A and forced induction applications have made very good power.

That is good info and I am glad I was wrong after reading that. Thanks for that tip.

I love my 302 stroker kit. Wouldn't have it any other way.

There is nothing wrong with a stroker. On the street it is a viable choice. Until recently it was the most economical way to get 300" out of a modular. Resleeving a Teksid block was expensive. With the new blocks from FRPP the cost of a big bore is now within reach of just about everyone.

Concerning FRPP...you might still get the occasional dumbass on the phone but the people behind the scenes are available to the public and they are quite sharp. They are hot rodders too which always helps.

The new big bore aluminum block from FRPP is not a Teksid block. It is, by all indications, just as strong. The new iron block has the same architecture but weighs a bit more and is less expensive.

okay.. I was thinking... Teksid factory burned down and thats why they switched to the wap(Windor) blocks which couldn't handle the power. Now even though the blocks are better. I hope to God they don't use thge hypertek pistons. Just garbage!!!!

The WAP blocks are not weak and they can handle a lot of power. I wouldn't be afraid to use one of them. Ford still used shit rods and pistons on the N/A V8's, only the SC'd V8's get good internals from the factory.
