So tonight as i was changing my valve covers i reached down and felt the timing chain and it had a little slop on the drivers side but the passenger side was just fine. is this normal?

Top side or bottom side of the chain, if you are feeling the side opposite of the tensioner it will have less tension.

iirc the top of the passenger side was a little loose and the top of the drivers side was stiff. so this is normal?

This is somewhat on the same issue but where can I find a rotunda-like(but cheaper) timing chaing wedge. The rotunda version is $155. Or I would be perfectly happy to know the measurements so I can build one.
