So I've just started to possibly piece together a built engine on the side to hopefully swap into my vortech SC'd 06 3v around summer time.
Originally just thinking of putting in forged rods and pistons, but I was talking to someone yesterday that has a pair of brand new stage 3 ported heads selling for a discount and I'm wondering if it's a good deal to pass up.
- it's a pair of new, stage 3 ported heads done by Performance CNC in Summerville, SC. PAC springs, titanium hardware, Manley oversized valves, flow 306/222CFM. These info are from the owner.
- he's selling them for $3500 shipped, maybe lower if I pick them up in person-
- these are probably overkill for what I would be doing with my car. I'm slowly building it to be a weekend car and taken to the tracks for HPDE a few times a year. But was just thinking if I'm rebuilding the engine, why not. Not looking to make the car competitive or win races, but reliable and fun for the streets and the tracks
- I've read a lot of posts here, probably not all, but most. Some may suggest why not start with a newer mustang with coyote, but I like this style more and the car is lighter.
- any thoughts with the heads? Good deal or no? Or just waste of money for my purpose?
