This was mentioned above, but my peeve is that EVERY hotrod/classic/muscle car makes 500 hp according to their owners, and they all run 10's in the quarter.

When I first got into Mustangs and other cars, I'd love going to local car shows. But 99.10% of the time, the owners are pricks. Many times I've tried to shoot the shit with a lot of the owners and they come off like their shit don't stink. I can appreciate the cars, but knowing that the owners are pricks kind of brings me down, haha.

+1. the last one I went to, I didn't enter but I went to hang out with some friends who had some bolt ons, yet very clean and respectable cars, and another friend of mine with a super snake. Talked and hung out with all of them and then got to some ass pirates with a SN-95s and fox body cars with a 30 dollar paint job and shit missing and fake GT-R emblems. I guess cars shows are really hit and miss.

People who will steal shit out of your car while your not looking. People that will key, scuff, lean on your car. Look at the damage they caused and walk away like no one saw it.

Some guy a couple days ago HIT my driver's side fender with a big ol' wooden art supply box right in front of my eyes. He turns around, looks at me, looks at the car, then keeps walking. I let him have the verbal abuse. I can't believe some people.

Another time at the beach, a couple of foriegners (From Russia, i think) are leaning against my car and looking into it. Meanwhile, they had there cameraS sitting on the roof of my car. Friggin' aye...

Sorry, had to let that out

I love kids and have 3 of my own. Have trained them well not to touch other cars and if they stray from that, I let them know quick, Hands to yourself. I hate when these a$$hat parents just look at their kids touching, poking, pulling and smearing their fingers and hands all over your car. CONTROL YOUR KIDS!!!

I wish I could catch the fags that have hit my car and run off. If I get unpissed enough to go take pics, I'll put them up. That is bullshit though, just cause they don't give two fucks about their own prius or yaris, doesn't mean they can knock other peoples cars.

I refuse to let my fate be decided by others. That's why I race instead of show. I take what I want.

Why car shows piss me off.

1: They all believe their small block Chevy makes a minimum of 450 HP.
2: Everyone's car is 2 + seconds slower than they say it is.
3: All the stupid dolls leaning against their cars are stupid.
4: Just because their 1978 Plymouth Reliant is 1 of 3 built without a cigarette lighter doesn't make it worth a shit.
5: If I ever end up sitting in a parking lot full of cars, I will be carrying a sign that says "will work for food"
LMAO at #4 and #5. :roflmao:

The best car shows are in the staging lanes at the race track IMO.
+1,000,000! :beerdrink:

I hate most of the judging rules, at least in the shows around here. The judging is based solely on how well the car is detailed (clean). They don't take originiality, concepts, style, etc into account. I found this out at a show recently when there are people with cars just off the showroom winning awards.

I went to a show in NH couple years ago. Last time as well. Was a good turn out and nice mustangs. They had 3 classes for the 05+: stock, slightly modified and heavely modified. I though because mine was far from stock and done right with a fully built motor, ill go in the heavy modified class. I set up. I put up my dyno sheet and mod list next to the car. Their were 4 cars in my class. One was all chromed out with lambo doors and 20" bullits. The other 2 were gt's with decal stripes and a saleen blower. I talked to the owners and because i was 24 at the time, they treated me like shit. I was like whatever. When it came time for the judging, the other 3 won with the chrome one taking first. The other 2 were the guys running the show (both judges as well) and all 3 were in the same mustang club.

I ended up talking to the president saying i don't care that i didnt win but when you have 2 of your own guys in the class and judging, thats bullshit. He pretty much told me to fuck off.

easy to say, i and many others never went to their shows again

I've been to a couple of local mustang shows and a shelby owners show, mostly to look. I entered in a daily driven category with a bunch of garage kept weekend cruisers. Oh well I'm there for the cars and the "good" people, and I'm usually up for supporting local clubs.

1)i HATE when i show my car the people who walk by talk to their friends like they know what they are talking about and they are totally wrong.

2)I HATE when kids and adults lean all over my car like its theirs

3) i HATE when the Judges give someone who has a completely stock car a 10 for appearance when it came like that from factory

and 4) (this happened to me) I hate when stupid teenagers who are "chevy lovers" see my car at a car show and spit on my car because its a ford

There are unfair shows, with favoritism etc.. and then there is understanding how a show is judged. Some shows the detailing job is what wins the award, it helps people from buying the trophies by dropping the big cash. Others is creativity, etc.

Plus you have to remember, even unbiased judges as far as knowing owners, do have OPINIONS. Some ppl like slammed, with big wheels & bodykits.. others would rather a factory body with drag wheel setup.

I walk through shows all the time, I enter my car in only one and that is more to enjoy the day.. I won't cry myself to sleep at night without a trophy.

I don't put my car in shows expecting to win anything but I usually place when I do put my car in one. I do it to show off my mods and more or less meet and talk to fellow enthusiasts, not to get trophies. I never have a problem when someone beats me out for having a better prepped car. I did have a bad experience a while back at a car show. I don't drive my car everyday and have never driven it in the rain. I spent a couple of days prepping it for a large Mustang car show in Dillon SC, (Roundup at South Of The Border). The show was put on by a local Mustang club there. I had 4 judges, who just happened to be members of this car club, scrutinize and pick every square inch of my car for bout a half hour. It was very obvious they weren't going to stop until they could get me out of the running. They finally pointed out the discoloration of the factory magnesium valve covers and then lifted my spare tire cover and saw that I had removed it. They then took enough points to keep me from placing. When it was trophy time, fellow club members racked up! That's just how it goes sometimes. I had a good friend who put his car in there a couple of years ago tell me before I went what to expect and he was exactly right! I still may go back next year but I will definitely not re-prep the car again like I did this time. It will just be to check out the rides and BS with people. There was also another show that same day that time. If that happens next year, I will just go to it instead. I am not going to waste my time and I am definitely not going to join that mustang club just to get a trophy.

Not car show related but I hate it when the car in front of you sprays their windshield wiper fluid on their car and it flies back and gets all over my hood/windshield...

I hate the guys who prop the hood open with a poster that has a picture of there car on it with words that read "this is my 2007 mustang GT, it has over $3,000.00 in mods and runs consistant 10 second times" and all you can see is there chrome CAI, and 22" chrome discount eBay wheel, and a light up shift knob. With dust all over the interior and under the hood.

If I see some one spit on my car, the next thing they will be spitting is their teeth out.

One of the girls up here who shows her 5.0 on occasion has a sign she displays saying "if you run your hand over my mustang I will run my mustang over your hand" I love that sign.

What about the guys who place both hands on the nice shiny part of your fenders as they're looking into your engine bay?

That's probably my worst peeve. I hate anyone touching my paint for any reason. Especially giant oily palm prints on my fenders.
