Weird tap started today.

Hey guys I started the car today and I noticed I had a weird tapping coming from the engine bay. When I pop the hood the sound gets washed out. After a 15 minute warm up the sound was still there. Opinions on what it could be?

I have the same issue. The tapping is the exact same. Im not buring oil have good oil pressure and however, it goes away after about 5 or 6 mins. Not sure what it really is myself. If Im not getting any issues that I cn see at this moment, I will let it lie. Ill look more into it after I get back to do my cam swap.

It sounds like injectors to me. Have you recently done any mods to the car?

Sounds like a lash adjuster. I had the same sound and had ford fix it under warranty. Then i traded the car in lol.

How about the uhm.. Er. Brain fart of what they're called, but they're the cam timing adjusters that control the cam timing (obviously).

Had them both go out on our 09 F150 and it was a constant low speed tapping. Went away as the cam retard was pulled out. Kid of sounded like an old school seewing machine.

Totally couldn't figure that one out for some reason. Lol
