well to paraphrase SD

"why is there enough money to do it twice but not enough to do it right the first time"

its cost $$$ to go fast... if your broke....maybe you should not be racing.....

im thinking for a mostly street driven car wouldn't the SPEC 2 clutch kit and a steel flywheel or steel billet be best?

I always thought the spec 3+ would be too much clutch for a street driven car?

the weight of the S197 suggests the 3+ is a better choice

there have been a bunch of guys with issues with the 2+s and near zero with the 3+

as long as the stocker is in decent shape.... I re-used mine FW when I went with the 3+

just cut some expenses for a few months... go out to eat less, drink less, etc

20k miles plus on my Spec 3+ and still works like the day I put it in. Kind of wish I would have stuck with the steel flywheel, but the Spec AL one spins up the RPM's pretty fast and seems to get a tad better gas mileage, less than one mpg, but everybit of rotational mass helps.

so are you guys all suggesting that the SPEC 3 or 3+ is fine for a street daily driver use as well?

thanks.

I am suggesting the Spec 3+, not the 3 and the Spec 2 or 2+ really are not good clutches for out car if word of mouth is to be believed. Now my buddy with a 96 mustang pushing 598rwhp and 540rwtq loves his Spec 2, but he is the only person I know that likes their spec 2.

on a budget i'd go with a Ram HD or a Roush P-51.

To do it right, Mceloud twin disk and never look back.

no reason the 3+ should not be good for daily use IMHO

If you go with a Spec do yourself a favor and go with the 3+, stay away from the rest. If you are looking for something else you might want to look at the Roush P51 clutch, lotsa good reports on it as well. I personally wound up with the McLeod RST twin disc but it cost more than all of the ones mentioned. But I wanted a clutch that drove like stock, felt like stock and would handle more power than I could throw at it and last. It feels so good in the car that my shop (that installed it) yanked their clutch out and installed one in their car.
