Went out in some not-so-great air in my n/a A6 5.0 last night...

Last night's event was at Cedar Falls Raceway, a Friday night T&T. DA was around 2400' for my best pass yesterday. Car has run a best of 11.66 @ 116.16 at around 600-700 DA at a different track, back in May. Exact same setup now. I was surprised! We had a mild tailwind, I suppose that helped.

47# injectors
Racestar 15x8/17x7 setup with 255/60-15 M/T Radials

3.15 gear, stock exhaust manifolds, stock intake and airbox, stock driveshaft. Full weight except I took the spare tire out. 1/2 tank of fuel.

This is me (slower car obviously) vs my friend's new 2015 Z06 automatic, bone stock except he's on 18" M/T drag radials.

Lol. I didn't say 'bad' air. I realize it can be way worse in parts of the country. But I typically don't go too much in the summer, mainly just in the cooler spring/fall. I was surprised it ran better than 11.90-12.0 at 2400'.

What does the car weigh?

Not sure, haven't weighed it. It's a base car with the front anti roll bar removed, and the Racestar wheels. Other than removing the spare tire it was full weight. The car had 1/2 tank of gas. I'm about 185lbs. I'd like to weigh it.

Wow, KrisR, your car ran great despite the DA. And that '15 Z06 running 10's? Crazy fast for a pure stock car on DR's. I had been matching (and often beating) C6 Z06's with my '14 GT at our local dragstrips. Looks like I have to really up my game if I want to stay up with the C7 Z06's.

Thanks Brian! Yeah the C7Zs are nasty. He ran an 11.16 bone stock on stock tires at a different track with 500 miles on the car, in close to 3000'DA. He just wanted a 10 on friday, boy was he stoked!

Gotcha. Mike has these transmissions on lock and the car runs damn well. Any plans on cutting weight? If so, it's going to fly.

I bought a Cobra Jet manifold setup yesterday. Waiting to hear from Mike about getting some revised tune files. Excited to see what it will do in good air with the CJ this fall! :)

Not quite as good as I'd hoped, but it's an improvement. This is the first file Mike has done for this manifold/TB combo so the driveability needs a little touch-up with regard to the part throttle stuff, and he was conservative in the initial 1-2 shift settings, as it's only shifting at around 6800 on the 1-2 (the 2-3 is at 7500). I'm guessing a revision with a higher 1-2 shift point will be helpful. Best times ever for the car though, and it was extremely consistent all day!

Current setup: CJ manifold, OEM GT500 TB, Ford Racing CAI, Circle D 5C, offroad x pipe, Mike Rousch E85 tune, 47# injectors.

Full weight except for removal of the front sway bar, spare tire, and the 17x7 / 15x8 Racestar setup. 255/60-15 M/T drag radials. 3.15 gear, stock driveshaft, stock exhaust manifolds and mufflers.
