I'd love to be your neighbor congrats man!

If you were I would have you over for a Cole Brew and to check out the improved system.
Well once that actually takes place.
Runco has shipped the projector this week to my A/V dealer.
Now have to order the Integra DHC-80.3.

Terry I have the 80.1 in my system, replaced my Theta Casablanca with it. You will love the new Integra.

Earl

Earl,

Then there was the 80.2 and now just announced at Cedia this past September the 80.3 unit.

I'm very much looking forward to these latest changes once they are in place and fully operational.

I'm thinking Feb. by middle of Month for install.
I did tell Charles to hold the Runco and run it for a 100 Hrs. to burn in the Lamp.
Then when it is delivered here it can be fully set-up and I won't have to call them back to refine the picture adjustments.
I prefer they do it all at one time and when it is completed I am ready to Rock & Roll.

Holy crap, now THAT is dedication to A/V quality!
I wish to one day be able to have a theater room even half as nice as yours. Congrats again on the new toys, I know you must be like a kid on Christmas waiting to get everything 100% complete

It is going to be pretty darn sweet man when the new gear is completed.

That will probably take place before the middle of Feb. coming up.
The Integra DHC-80.3 will be ordered this coming week.
That was the last part of the system that needed to be up-graded.

Terry, when all is said and done, will this setup rival the XD setups at the theaters?

XD,
What do you get with XD? You get a huge screen with a digital 2k projector (most of the time, digitial projection = 2k projector, 2048×1080 resolution) and uncompressed PCM sound, which is lossless (bit for bit the same as the original studio master).

Nick,

I'm certainly No-Expert at all but from reading about the XD in Theaters it would seem mine would be something like that.

The Runco being the Newest 1080p projector just released at Cedia this past Sept. by Runco.

The Integra DHC-80.3 Pre-Amp Processor was also released at Cedia.
It has all the latest Audio formats that are out there.
It can decode all of them and decode 7.1 surround off BD, (BluRay Disc.)

The Sony BR, (BluRay) player can decode all the new Audio formats like the 7.1 surround in certain movies.

My speakers are for a 7-Channel set-up.
I have 4-Mirage BPS 400 Subwoofers.

Which actually makes my system a 7.4 system.

I run all Classe' amps powering the speakers.

The speakers are JMlab Utopia.

The screen is a 123" Stewart Grey Hawk with remote 4-way masking.

The room is acoustically correct.
And it is a "Cave" with the sconce light out.

We sit 17' from the 10 Foot Screen so the picture is pretty darn large.

With me covering all the above with you I would say that the Home Theater is going to do it's thing.

No bragging here by me at all seriously.
This is going to be IMHO a Drop-Dead, Kick-Ass Awesome Seeing & Hearing experience.

I feel fortunate to have this type of system.

You know in some ways I am reluctant to be factual about some things on the Internet.
Just to many people looking to make some clever, smart ass comment.

With me saying that it is nice to read from another Adult that you can appreciate the HT system regardless of whom the member is that has it.

At 66 years old now and come June make that 67 I would say you are right.
I have been out on my own since I was 18 and Enlisted in the Military.
That is a great many years to have worked.

Me at 18 yrs. old in Basic at Fort Knox. KY. 1963.

BasicTrainingFortKnox-1.jpg

It is about time to finally enjoy some of the things that all those years of working have now provided.

Like the Mustang and the Home Theater.

Those are really the two things I have interest in.

If you lived closer you could drop by any weekend for a in person Demo.
Oh and the Brews would be on me.

Terry, one of these days I'd kill to have a setup remotely close to that. Living in an apartment and being a broke college student limit my possibilities for a nice HT. Very nice work, my roommate and I were both drooling over your setup.

Eric,

You and your roommate may very well at some point in your lives have Home Theaters way past what this is today.
Technology being what it is and changing so quickly.

I never had anything remotely like this until very recent years.

It is a huge investment for the complete system.
Plus 100K in dollars in that room.

So for the working class we usually don't have that sort of thing until we are older Men & Women.
And only then when for the most of us being Married for yrs. with a working Spouse.

And keep in mind my wife and I never had children.
So that lends itself to nicer Big Boy Toys.

I spent last weekend over at my buddy's house, we built some enclosures for 5 tactile transducers and amp's in his couch. Along with his 2 15's, the entire house shook at a moderate volume. Blows my mind what technology can do, like you said. I'm looking forward to seeing everything all buttoned up in your HT, Terry!

Terry I recommend Band of Brothers and Pacific in Blu Ray, both are great. I was stationed at Ft. Knox in 67 while waiting for the Unit to ship out.

Hi Earl,

I have Band-of-Brothers on DVD.

I might sign up for (Pacific) in BR as I don't have it and have not seen it.

Man Fort Knox, KY. that was a few days ago.

Latest news on the HT (Home Theater) ....

The latest News that just arrived Via E-Mail.

There is now a little Up-Grade to the New incoming HT (Home Theater) gear.

Had a discussion with my A/V guy (Charles) at Hi-Tech Innovations.

We agreed to up-grade from the lower cost Sony Blu-ray player.
To the just Released at Cedia Sept. 2011,
Integra DBS-50.3 THX certified Blu-ray player.

Charles is placing that order today as I did sign-off on it.
