Whats my redline??

Maybe a bit of a newb qustions, searched but didnt find my answer.

The car is a 2007 GT
All the bolt ons, long tubes, tuned, 3.73's, Hot Rod Cams
340 hp, 326 tq

Was at the track (road course) and had some good conversation with some friends with similar cars, AI Spec cars.

The actual red line on my tack is 6k. He said he revs to 6300 all day long with no issues, and occasional 6500

With the cams, where can I safely shift? is 63-6500 safe?

Also, here is my latest dyno sheet, it looks like it stops making much power beyond 6-6200.

In watching my videos, I seem to shift between 5800 and 6k but I'm trying to pick up a second or two and some mph on the straights.
I'm not racing, and I do need to drive the car home.. so... thats always in the back of my mind.

Any opinions would be great? TIA,

Shift right where it quits making power, you will rev a couple of hundred past that by the time you actually shift. UNLESS you need to over rev it for traps etc. Ars you running aftermarket valve springs? In any case, turning it to 6300 is not a prob. I think redline is 6200 or 6250 right??

Believe redline is 6000-6250 (The Bullet model GT's were 6250 I think). Guessing you didn't swap springs for the hot rods. I'd keep it under 6500, especially if you aren't making power past 62-6300 anyway.

When I had my blower and stock motor my tuner set my redline at 6500 so I could shift at 6100-6200 without hitting the rev limiter.

In the shorter shifts 1-2, 2-3 it would not make that much of a difference if you keep on it a little longer, next gear still has a lot of torque so that extra RPM after the shift wont make a difference, on 3-4 is different, stay a little longer in 3rd so once in 4th you are a little higher too, also you can go to 6.5K specially when you need to stay on it for a straight where the gear is a little short and avoid an useless very short upshift, also to avoid using 5th if on a 3650.

Isn't the redline 6200 and limiter 6250 on the GT and 6500 on the Bullitt?

Rev limiters, 6375 on GT, 6625 on Bullitt.

Stock cammed cars doesn't make any sense on going over 5800-6000.

Why is the rev limiter higher on the bullitt?

That is a question for Ford engineers/calibrators to answer but my guess is:

- It uses a different cam timing.
- It comes with much more bigger CAI that flows a lot more than the GT.
- It comes with a shorter gear than the GT OEM.

I've never dyno'd a stock Bullitt (there is only one in the country) but I am quite sure it peaks a couple of hundred RPMs later than a typical GT, that MAY be the reason.

Didn't they use a different crank damper due to spinning it a little harder?

That, I don't know, never messed with one, either way, if they did it, it would be for added safety/longevity than performance.

Right. I understand. Every site that list the differences list the crank damper as being a different unit than the GT. But maybe it's just talk.
