A little faster but not what we were aiming for. We'll be working on a few small things and take another stab at it next Wed.

What was the 60' time on that run? It looked like you didn't hook well at all and were all over the place.

Youtube is awesome. I have learned tons over the years from watching videos. Besides some power tricks, the car needs some much needed suspension. We have overpowered the stock suspension and stock shocks. That is the reason that the 60' times have started to fall off with the new found power. The amount of power and the stock suspension make the car feel like a bucking bronco.

I am sure Jared will keep you posted on the mods--but we need some UPR suspension---LIKE NOW

Lol, another one? where's the BMR guy? He's usually in these threads preaching the same stuff about his suspension.

Just playin... You guys all have good stuff.

Well the car does have a HUGE UPR sticker on the rear window so I don't think BMR has anything to do with this pony.

You might be playin but you do realize that Jeremy is our driver. Yes, the one in that video and the driver of our 2010 GT500 as well. Not only that but he and UPR play a major role in how our cars get setup. Without him or UPR involved in our projects you wouldn't be seeing a MT-82 car in the low 10's and soon to be 9's.

With that said Jeremy knows what this car is going to benefit from. If he says it needs suspension it's in our best interest to listen to him. We're going to put some QA1 shocks on for next week. Then we'll being doing the entire rear suspension with all of UPR's products. You'll be able to read about it in an up coming issue of 5.0 Mustang Magazine as our car is one of their 2011 5.0L project cars.

If there's anything that we can help you with please feel free to give us a call.

Thanks, Jared

So he is the one that was on that wild ride. I am sure he can't wait for the suspension work as it looks like he got tossed around a good amount on that 1-2 shift.

It was back to the track for Team Lethal as we headed to Palm Beach International Raceway for a few more passes. The only changes made this time were a set of QA1 single adjustable shocks. Otherwise the car has the stock springs, upper and lower control arms and panhard rod. We're running a 2.9L Whipple with a 3.50" pulley, American Racing 1-7/8" longtube headers, Offroad X-Pipe and the Magnaflow 3" competition catback. We're also using a Fore Precision Works dual pump return style fuel hat along with their filter, y-block and regulator.

With the UPR's Jeremy Martorella behind the wheel we were able to crack off a 10.36@134mph. We were hoping for better but as you know it always doesn't work out as we'd like it to. Not only was the track not hooking well we believe we've simply reached the limit of the stock suspension setup. Although the power the car is making won't be mentioned as it's part of an up coming article to be featured in 5.0 Mustang Magazine I can tell you that we've over powered the stock suspension. Before we were able to make it work cutting low 1.40 60fts. Now we're unable to do so and ended up with the best of a 1.50 that evening. Obviously track prep may play a role in that as well but from our video before this when we ran our best of [email protected] you can see how bad the car bounces in between shifts.

So next week we'll be headed over to UPR Products in Lake Worth, FL to set the suspension up right. Our driver and good friend Jeremy Martorella will be performing the installation of UPR's race suspension products identical to the ones we run on our 9 second 2010 GT500.

Then it's back to the track to make another attempt at a 9 second pass with the stock motor and stock 6 speed manual transmission.

As always we want to thank all of our awesome customers and vendors for showing us their support. UPR Products, Whipple Superchargers, Jon Lund of Lund Racing, SCT, Power by the Hour Performance, Jake Long, Fore Precision Works, The Driveshaft Shop, Mcleod Racing, Magnaflow, American Racing Headers, Ford Racing, Jeremy Martorella, Bogart Racing Wheels, JLT Performance, Apex Automotive.

Looks like you guys will be right on the 9 second barrier once the suspension gets sorted out. A couple of more MPH wouldn't hurt either but I've really got to say a prayer for that poor stock shortblock. Little did it know when it was being born on the assembly line the extreme stresses it's little rods and pistons were going to be asked to endure!!!

It think it is really a testament to the massive overall improvement of the Coyote heads and the addition of the twin independent cam timing give over any modular head combo before it. There is no way that the internals of the 5.0 would survive for any amount of time at the power levels we are seeing them with right now if the heads weren't so good. Of course it doesn't hurt to have a great tuner behind the laptop either. I can't wait to see if this thing can post up a sub 10.00 pass with the stock motor.
