Why a 1 piece driveshaft?

I get the weight reduction – that’s not the question.
I’m wondering why all aftermarket DS’s are 1 piece when Ford used a 2 piece? Or maybe the question is why did Ford use a 2 piece? Is it just easier and/or cheaper to manufacture and/or install on the line?

What he said. Stocker reduces nvh. Aftermarket ones are one piece because horsepower destroys carrier bearings.

Because of physics. Any joint, gear, bearing etc., causes parasitic drivetrain horsepower losses. May not be significant but every bit counts.
