Would 18x9.5 wheels im looking at, but it says they come in 27 inset or 40 inset, I have a feeling this inset will make it difficult for my 05-09 to fit these wheels... Does anyone know for sure? Ive seen a 01 cobra on svtp run these wheels.

Edit I looked at sticky, but nowhere did it mention inset.

+40 is what you need. You can run the 27 but you will have some poke. That just comes down to how much you want. Ive pondered these quite a bit and just havent done it.

Look in the slammed on 18s thread. There is a pic of a black car with them on it.

I have pictures of a black '05-'09 GT with them on it with 285 tires. I never could tell if they were actually under the car. They look awesome. I'll try to find them and post them. Pics came from here.

the 27s would look hot if you could get about 5mm shaved off the hub. They would sit flush like RTRs

Does a +40 on a 9.5" wheel leave enough clearance on the inside edges of the wheel front and rear? I'm just used to having issues with clearance in the past on a new edge.

^ I agree with 275. I run a 275/40 on my enkeis. That's perfect on a 9.5 width wheel

The +40mm would be better for 295s squared. But might need a small spacer. MIGHT....

The 275's is a good choice but they are a tiny bit shorter and narrower than the 285's.
The 285's will fill in the wheel wells a bit better than the 275's while given you a nicer stance with a 40mm offset whether you are dropped or not.
Personally the widest I would go is 285's on the 18x9.5 that is if your looking for a meaty set up.
The down side is, there's not many tire choices for the 285's.

Yeah that's pretty hot!1 9.5 on 285's all around.

A 275/40 isn't shorter than a 285/35. The 285 have a nice bulge but are a hair short for my liking. They both look good but that 275 looks better hands down. I think a 285/40 would be a little too tall

I currently have gt500 wheels, and am rocking a 305/40/18 drag radial in the back, if i go down to 275, im worried about traction...

I don't think you should be. There are a TON of fast, small tire Mustangs out there.

285/35 is not the right size I was talking about the 285/40.

275's are 26.6" and 285's are 27" The Factory spec tires are 27.3" on an 18" wheel and 27.2" on the 17's. The 285's will put him the closes to factory stock size. So, Yes the the 275's are a bit shorter like I mentioned and the 285's are closer to stock height and that's why the earlier GT500's used this size tire on the 18x9.5.

well a 295/40/18 is at 27.2 diameter... just hard to find an expensive. Im just curious if i can run either that or 295/35/18's they are only 26.1 overall diameter.. and if they would fit in the fronts.

Gotcha. Had I known the stock tire sizes I would have kept my sticky little hands off the keyboard lol!

295/35/18 goes just fine up front, but I'd use a 10" wheel at least to take advantage of the extra tread. You're not going to get much more tread on the ground with a 295 on a 9.5" wheel vs. a 275...you'll just make more bulge.
